Midweek post

Hi Everybody!

It's Wednesday already, the days are flying. We had autumn weather here today, cooler, windy  and with some much needed rain. The farmers are busy ploughing the fields, always followed by hundreds of gulls and crows, all looking for tid-bits. I always enjoy walking by the Rhine and through the fields.

Today I am sharing an A3 journal page from the folder of 'found and unfinished' pages. I'm still not really happy with it, but I like the quote I added, and the sewing. The background was gessoed, stamped and then brayered over with some pastel colours. The squares and circles were stamped and have some added Stickles. The dragonfly and other stamps are from Lawrence and Morgan.'Live' is a Sizzix die-cut. I have the same quote on my light box which keeps me company in my arty kitchen:

The day got off to a great start - I love watching the world around me wake up:

Autumn is definitely in the air:

Beautiful skies in the  afternoon:

A farmer's work is never done - and the freshly turned earth smelled so good:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T sTands for Trees and a Trip to a pumpkin farm

Hi Everybody!

The weekend has started off cool and autumnal, and I like it! We had a warm and sunny weekend, so I walked lots and yesterday drove with Nathalie to Holland, where we had a fun day shopping and looking at the town, but I will tell you about it another time....

On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our lovely Joan  is hosting, and has chosen trees as her theme - a great theme for this time of year, so hope to see lots of people joining in. Joan has made 2 lovely, inspirational tree-tags which you will be able to see when the post goes live on Monday evening.
I made a hybrid tag to start off. The background was hand-painted, the tag cut from painted and stenciled card, the face is from Gecko Galz and the trees and other elements from Serif, all layered digitally:

It's also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday weekly gathering, so here a warm welcome to all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang who visit. I was out and about nearly all day every day, so needed to eat and drink to keep my strength up. Sorry, I had to take a bite before the photo was taken:

On the day I got this cappuccino I had walked all the way into Düsseldorf, good 10 kilometer, and badly needed sustenance:

I saw these signs outside a cafe on my way:

And this was the cappuccino served in Holland, with an extra portion of cream - which I didn't eat!

Water is sometimes good, too:

And here is a selection of the cups etc in our little thrift shop here:

Last week we visited a pumpkin farm in Mettmann, and had fun admiring the decorations:

Nathalie telephoning with a gourd:

And there is a cafe at the farm, so it would have been rude not to try their homemade cake - so yummy:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend - enjoy!
We've got some good weather forecast for the next 2 days, but after that it will be getting more like autumn, so it will be time to get my warm pullovers and jackets out!

Recently, while clearing out my arty kitchen, I found several A3 journal pages which I had started and not finished. This one is now done, the others will follow. The background was painted and collaged with napkins. I rolled over it with my love-words roller-stamp and used stencils for the birds, people and the sentiment. I added washi tape around the edges and sewed over  it:

The following pics were taken in the early  mornings this week:

And these pics are from my walk this afternoon:

And a close-up of the beautiful Nile goose:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
