T stands for a Tag and a journal page

Hi Everybody!

The sun is shining again as I write this, so I'm hoping it's a good sign and that the rainy and windy weather we have been 'enjoying' these past days will soon move elsewhere. I can't write much just now, as I am having problems with very painful fingers, so my comments on your blogs may be shorter than usual this week. I am glad that I have all my tags and artwork for the next few weeks ready, as I can't do anything just now.

For Tag Tuesday I have another bunny tag, this time using images from Beatrix Potter's wonderful illustrations. I used a collage sheet from Gecko Galz and some images from Serif:

This is one of the large (A3- about 12 x 17" ) mixed media / collaged journal pages I have been making in past weeks at art group. On a gessoed and painted background I collaged tissue scraps one over the other, and an old and tattered postcard that I found in one of my boxes. I added lots of sewing, some colourful dots and a stenciled quote. The others in this series also have textiles added, and I will show them bit by bit in the next couple of weeks:

Today is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday party, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang. A new coffee roaster and cafe has opened here, and the coffee is really good:

I hope the horses can read the pictographs - I sometimes wonder if our little town has no more important things to think about:

More spring photos:

The little stream next to the house is very full:

As is the pathway - thank goodness for wellies:

Violets growing out of cracks in the pavement:

More spring decorations:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

May the road rise up to meet you

Hi Everybody!

First of all I would like to wish a very happy St Patrick's day tomorrow to all wearers of the green who are celebrating. This Irish blessing is one of my faves:

May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields
and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

For Tag Tuesday I made a hybrid tag for Wilma's hares and rabbits challenge  using images from Mr Whiskers collage sheet and  Gecko Galz:

Wild, wet and windy weather is always enjoyed by the water birds:

Sorry, shorter post than usual, my fingers are extremely painful and I have problems typing.

Have a great weekend,
take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

A little bit of spring

Hi Everybody!

We are having a stormy week here, with lots of rain and much cooler temperatures, but it's not having much impact on the growing vegetation, and it's greening up everywhere nicely. We just have to take the weather as it comes!

I have managed to finish 2 little books this week. I have been working on them off and on at art group for a few weeks, but sometimes we spend more time talking, eating cookies and drinking coffee than working, so it's been slow progress. This is the first one, which didn't turn out quite as I would have liked it, but it's okay. I used some chip-board pieces from LaBlanche, which were painted white, party collaged with napkin scraps, stenciled and then varnished. The reverse side of each  chipboard piece was painted white, and then decorated with an ornament stenciled with embossing paste coloured with antiquing wax, and finally given a little sewn and decorated pocket:

I am linking to Paint Party Friday
and to Simon Wednesday Challenge, whatever the weather and to
Mini Album Makers challenge (thanks Tracey!)

And I have a hybrid tag meant for Tag Tuesday, Wilma's challenge of 'Hares and rabbits', using elements from Serif and me:

A few photos from my walks:

The weeping willow is getting green:

This tree made me think of an owl watching me:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
