This and That for Thursday

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, light and darkness, and for
I have another hybrid/mixed media piece, using 2 different
backgrounds merged together digitally, an image from LaBlanche
and some digi stars from Serif.

Today I was able to enjoy a beautiful sunset, as I
walked home along the Rhine:

Today I am sharing more 20th century art from the K20:

Robert Rauschenberg:

(This collage is HUGE!)

John Chamberlain:

Roy Lichtenstein:

Morris Lewis:

Andy Warhol's portrait of Joseph Beuys:

Franz Kline

Step into the light

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at
Moo Mania and More
👉 Trees 👈

As always, you have 2 weeks to join us and projects of all
formats are allowed. My piece is also meant for
Art Journal Journey, light and darkness.
I made a hybrid piece combining a water coloured background, my photos of the moon and the young raven, and some digital add ons - tree and stars- from Mischief Circus and Serif:

Today I am sharing some classical paintings from the Kunstpalast museum,
as I am always impressed how the artists managed to show
light and darkness so well:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Morning sunshine in a cup

Hi Everybody!

Today is Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday so I
would like to extend a warm welcome to all the
😉nice 😏ladies in the T gang.

At TIOT our theme is 'celebrations', and you still
have a week to join in!

My hybrid journal page for Art Journal Journey
light and darkness, also fits the drinks theme
at Elizabeth's. I used a page overlay from Mischief circus. And as you surely know, my morning cup of sunshine is always coffee or cappuccino:

I love watching the daylight grow and the changing colours
of dawn and sunrise:

The crows always wait patiently for their breakfast:

I did a lot of baking this week. I've been practising for Christmas.
I don't celebrate Christmas or anything else for that matter,
I see no point in celebrating on my own,
but I do like baking!
This batch of oat cakes was made with mixed spice, ginger and raisins, which I 'disinfected' with some cognac:

The second batch had the same spices, but almond flakes instead of raisins.
And the squares are shortbread, yummy!
Help yourselves to what you fancy!

While I was walking along the Rhine 'Oxford' chugged by.
I looked long and hard, but neither Lewis nor Hathaway were on board:

This raven really cracked me up - it was fishing!
I have never seen a raven doing that before, it seems to be learning from the gulls and ducks:

If you would like to see the Christmas Market photos from yesterday just follow the link.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

A visit to the Christmas Market

Hi Everybody!

Hope you have a good start in the new week.

For Art Journal Journey, light and darkness, I have another
hybrid piece,  for which I digitally combined a photo of the night sky, an old document, and a window frame and lantern. The moon and stars are from Mischief circus.

And I forgot to show my tag from last Tuesday, so here it is
as it fits very well to the theme:

Today I hopped onto the tram and went to Duisburg, a neighbouring town, to look at the Christmas Market there. The best thing for me were the delicious smells coming from the various booths.
I was there relatively early,so there were no crowds.

I am glad they didn't dress Nana up for Christmas:

There was even a skating rink:

I loved the silver trees:

I wasn't intending to eat anything, but on the way back
I smelt these delicious 'Reibekuchen' - potato cakes,
and had to eat a portion - yummy!

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
