In the Lantern

Hi Everybody!

It's Tuesday again, so it's time for
Elizabeth's T Stands For Tuesday party, and I would
like to extend a warm welcome to all the lovely  T Gang ladies.
I have one more mixed media/hybrid piece for Art Journal Journey, Susi's theme
 of collage with a twist:

And this is the tag I made for Tag Tuesday last week, our theme was
patchwork fields:

I popped into this lovely bakery for  cup of coffee, the figures in the window
move, it was fun to watch them:

And as I had time before my appointment, I went into the tower and saw the exhibits in the ship's museum there, and enjoyed another cup of coffee up in the 'lantern' under
the roof:

The views from the huge windows were wonderful in all directions:

And the cappuccino was good, too, and I remembered to take a photo
before I drank it all:

I will show the pictures of the wonderful ship's models another time.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

A visit to the Altstadt

Hi Everybody!

Susi's challenge 'collage with a twist' at Art Journal Journey is drawing
to an end but you still have a couple of days left to link to us!
This A3 collage was made 6 weeks ago, and I rediscovered it under a pile of newspapers....I collaged bits of napkins,  music paper, washi tape and various flying bits and bobs from my always well filled table. The letters are some giant alphas bought years back and recently rediscovered while searching for something else.

Last week I had an appointment in the Düsseldorf Altstadt (old town),
so I used the time to have a cup of coffee and take some pictures
of the Christmas market and Burg Platz (Platz=Square):

The church spire is famous for not being straight.
It was damaged during the war, but rebuilt
as it was:

I love these statues on the advertising columns:

I have been intending to go on the big wheel, which is stationed here
every year from October to January, but up till now I never plucked up the courage to actually do it!

The tower is the 'Schlossturm', the rest of the palace was destroyed by
fire long, long ago. It houses a wonderful ships' museum,
and I will show photos of the inside another time:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend this and that

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, Susi's challenge of collage with a twist,
I have another hybrid piece, using 'my' men, and some digi elements from Mischief circus. This time I stuck to a vintage, monochrome look. I am also linking to Paint Party Friday.

I think I showed this piece before, I discovered it lurking in between the clean sheets in the closet. I have no idea why I put it there....

Here are some of the stained glass pieces from the glass museum.
These are from the early 16th century:

This is a  modern one:

These are from the 17th century:

And some more modern work from the 20th century:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
