A Rose, Shakespeare and more....

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, in my garden there is, I have a double spread in my new journal no. 2. The background was painted, and then stamped with a scripts stamp and a frame stamp. The criss-cross strips in the background were cut from an ancient book, and Shakespeare arrived in my mail box in a prospect. Then I added the rose and butterfly transfers and some white spray and wrote the well known text.

Today was very hot, but at the Rhine it was pleasant. This ship was so long that I couldn't get it onto one photo, and then I saw it was made up of 2 ships fixed together in the middle - hope they don't need to go round any narrow bends!

The crew were having breakfast:

The people on this boat were also enjoying the river:

I watched this crane going up and up and up....

And this fungus has grown in a couple of days:

Here it looks like a squashed nose and fleshy lips - ugh!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Tuesday Mix

Hi Everybody!

Today we are beginning a new challenge at TIOT - make us smile.
As always, projects of all formats are allowed and you have 2
weeks to link to us - hope to see you there!

I made a double page in my journal using a floral DP as background.
The ladies are sitting in their garden, stitching and bitching, and having fun.
The stamp is from Lost Coast Designs. I am also linking to Art Journal Journey, in my garden.

Our theme at Tag Tuesday today is cups and cutlery. As it is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, my tag fits there, too. It's the third anniversary of the challenge, so BIG congrats to Bluebeard and Elizabeth.
My drink is, as always, cappuccino:

I had a bumper week for happy mail. One of my envelopes was filled with goodies from Elizabeth - lovely, bright tissue papers, napkins, stamped cards, 2 stamps which will be great for TSFT and a gorgeous ATC:

I love the colours and stitching. THANKS Elizabeth, this was a great surprise:

These are the last pages for the swap I have been taking part in this year,
from Annette AKA Voodoo Vixen - Thanks for these lovely pages and for the gorgeous goodies!

The paper feathers on the right page are so lovely!

These goodies were in my packet:

And I love the stamping on the envelope:

We are enjoying sun just now:

This jazz musician was really good:

This time the ship has a huge advert for Uerige, a Düsseldorfer Beer.
I prefer coffee!

And we have a new 'attraction' on the little square between the beer garden and the café - a model of the town as it was in 1700, with the water symbolizing the Rhine, streams and moat which made the town to an island. On the left is a drinking water fountain:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Summer garden fairy.

Hi Everybody!

The weekend is nearly over here, hope you had a good one!
I had a Sunday afternoon nap, but woke up feeling rather disorientated,
and thought I had to go to physiotherapy at 5 o'clock. Shock - it was already 4:30! After a frantic scramble to get ready and get there on time, I looked at the clock, which has a built in day/date, and saw that it was Sunday. I then decided that a coffee was needed!
Good that I looked before running all the way there!

For Art Journal Journey, in my garden there is, I am showing a 6x6" canvas made recently. This is my summer garden fairy, made from a glass vial, a vintage doll's head and some wings. I used my hot glue gun to stick it ll together. The background was painted, textured and crackled over an old kid's Disney canvas that I got for a few cents at the thrift shop. The glass vial was painted, heat dried to give texture and then rubbed with iridescent wax  (LaBlanche) for some shine.

Today I took a walk along the little stream before going along the Rhine, and the path is almost overgrown - the rain and the warm weather have turned it into a jungle!

This fellow let me take his photo:

The hydrangeas, hollyhocks and poppies are in a neighbour's garden:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
