Wednesday Mix

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at

Anything goes

This is a real easy one, and as always, you have 2 weeks time to join in and link your creations to us, and projects of all formats are welcome. I made a hybrid piece, which is also meant for Art Journal Journey, in my garden. I made a mixed media collaged background, and added the face and some other bits from Mischief Circus and  Dezinaworld digitally. The plants in the pots are auriculas, and were plants which were loved and cultivated by many people in East London. They were originally imported by the Huguenot weavers in the 17th century, and many people still have a collection of them, displayed on specially built shelves, sometimes called 'theatres', and often in triangular shape. These were the gardens of those living in houses where there was no space for an outdoor one. There are still shows of these flowers held in the exhibition centre at Earl's Court, in London.

We had warm and summery weather again, just right for walking. The day started well, with a beautiful sky, and I enjoyed watching the ships, and walking through the lanes of our little town:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T stands for....

Hi Everybody!

Today is Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so a big welcome to all the nice ladies of the T gang. I made a hybrid piece for Art Journal Journey, in my garden, which is perhaps not to be taken too seriously today. I combined a travel photo with some poppies I painted last week, and the statue of a girl, which I found in a castle I visited last year. I added the cup and saucer, and some digital add ons from Mischief circus. I hope you will all get your daily drinks without having to wait so long....

And I have a double mixed media page from my (old) new journal, also fitting to our garden theme at AJJ.

Last Friday the market place was very busy. It was the last day of school, and hundreds were celebrating with an ice bought from the café where I drink my coffee. The photo was taken at a quieter time, when there were not so many people in the way. My drink is, as always, coffee - what else?

Market day is always busy, too:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Yellow flowers

Hi Everybody!

Hope your weekend went well, here we have had 2 warm and mostly sunny days,
really amazing. I didn't need my wellies, raincoat or umbrella!
I wonder how long it will last?!

For Art Journal Journey, in my garden, I made a flower page with sunny colours.
I have been trying to do flower paintings in under 10 minutes,
just using a brush without drawing outlines, and  adding some lines with black ink when it is dry. There is a lot of room for improvement, so I want
to keep trying. I added some sprays and the text, which is not quite free of mistakes, those who actually try to read it will notice what happened!
I added the frame digitally.

This was the painting before the frame:

And before I forget again, here are my tag Tuesday tags from the last 2 weeks, which I forgot to show:

Today got off to a good start:

The Window of the bike shop is always filled with a rather
strange display. I seem to be on display, too:

More hollyhocks:

Most mornings I have the world to myself:

Our grill/fire corner has emerged from the floods again:

A long queue of young people about to board the ferry:

There are still some islands, but the water is almost back to normal:

Have a great day and a good start in the new week, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

This and that and happy mail

Hi Everybody!

Hope your weekend is going well. We've got pleasant weather here, so it would be nice if it lasts for a few days....

For Art Journal Journey, in my garden, I have another hybrid project. The background and tulips were hand painted. I combined them here digitally and added some splodges from Mischief Circus. The blackbird is a photo of one of my balcony birds.

I saw lots of hollyhocks again on my walk through our little place, they are now all taller than I am:

I always enjoy quiet corners:

The Rhine has receded further and is almost back to normal:

I love standing at the end of the street and watching the ships chugging by:

This huge mobile is on the roof of one of the houses at the Rhine:

Our little stream is also back to normal:

And last but most definitely not least, the postie bought me happy mail
today from Annie in Australia. I admired this card on Annie's blog a couple of weeks back, and said I had never seen a rocker card - well, now I have!:

Annie's attention to detail is fabulous, and her colouring and shading just AMAZING!! Annie, you rock!! And to crown it all she is a lady with a BIG heart! Thanks for this wonderful act of kindness!

That's all for today!
Have a good one, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
