Are we amused?

Hi Everybody!
The weekend is over, and we enjoyed a cool and rainy day here, which was very refreshing after the hot days we have had recently.

Today I have another 'Royal' journal page for Art Journal Journey, post and postage.
I drew a caricature of the Queen, crowned her, and gave her a nice pink dress, and of course, her handbag.  I added some stenciling and a stamp.
I am also linking to Kim Dellow's Friday Face Art.

Today I have some pics of the places I like to sit and watch the Rhine and the ships:

Later in the day the benches are all filled, I am usually there early in the morning.  At lunchtime a lot of people sit there with a coffee and a sandwich and enjoy just watching the water flow by.

And the cormorant also likes sitting on his pole and
watching what's going on:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by.

Stamp faces

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

I was really happy yesterday when I visited Joi's Blog.
She painted a wonderful picture using photos of my beloved town, and I felt very honoured that she made such a wonderful piece. Have a look at her blog if you can, she is very talented and her blog is well worth a visit.

I made this face on an A3 page a couple of weeks back, - it  disappeared into the wrong file along with 2 other pieces. . It started out as a face which was not turning out as I wanted. Then the phone rang, and I put my coffee cup onto it while I was on the phone, which made a brown ring. So I decided  to change it. I pasted a collage of stamps with faces and heads onto the unfinished pastel sketch. I added some stamping and a quote - and the journal page for post and postage at Art Journal Journey was finished. Can you recognise any of the people on the stamps?
I am also linking to Kim Dellow's Art it Friday (Show your face), where you can link up your face creations and see lovely work from others, and to
Mix it monthly, the facial profile.

The morning sky was beautiful again:

I love walking along this path down to the Rhine:

I think this is a walnut tree, must keep my eye on it.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks for coming by!

Love letter

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend - have a good one!

I made this page for art journal journey a couple of weeks back, and then lost track of it because I had put the photos into the wrong file.  The lady with the letter background was scanned and digitally altered to a stamp again. I placed the large image onto an A3 background painted with green and  blue metallic paint, then  added an image of a  hand writing a letter. I think the lady is dreaming of getting a letter from her loved one. I added the stamp, and stenciled some  flourishes and text. As a final touch I added some stamping.

Some pictures of my hot and sunny walk today. The horses were all in a shady corner of the meadow, near their water trough.

We had some very loud thunder storms in the night and into the early morning hours, so in the end I got up and took some photos of the sky:

And the crow was waiting for his breakfast as always:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks for coming by!

Magritte and post

Hi Everybody!

It's Friday already - where did the time go again?

For Art Journal Journey, post and postage, I have another journal page. I started out with some stamps showing René Magritte. I painted the A3 background with gesso and then gave it a colour wash with sky blue. I found some nice images in my stash with Magritte. The one at the bottom, showing him from the back, was applied as a transfer with mod-podge. The image on the right side should have been transferred with the same technique, but somebody (!?) pasted the mod-podge on the wrong side, so it had to be glued on as it was, which means the background script is the wrong way round. I must admit I quite like the effect. I used TH's Umbrella man to stand in for Mr Magritte, giving him Magritte's head with a stamp. I added some blue raindrops and a quote from Magritte.
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin

The farmer was plowing the field ready for the second planting, and was accompanied by a flock of seagulls looking for tidbits in the freshly turned earth.

The flowers, wild and cultivated, are beautiful at this time of year:

The bees are busy buzzing around collecting pollen:

and thanks a lot for coming by!
