Thursday-Friday Post and Tag Tuesday

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are all having a good week and keeping well. Here it's been alternately very hot and very wet, so I'm wondering what tomorrow will bring! I have once again being doing a lot of reading andx painting. Last night I listened to an audio book, and fell asleep. I woke up and couldn't understand why people were talking in my bedroom, but eventually I got the message and switched it off! Now I will have to try to find the part where I fell asleep so that I don't miss anything!

The new challenge at Tag Tuesday is being hosted by dear Sandie, who has chosen the theme of vintage:

Today I am sharing some repeats from past years for Nicole's FFO and Gillena's AFFF, and the tag also has a lovely face:

Hope you enjoy the heads and faces!

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  3. If you were here, you would have heard long "Ooooooo" when I saw the vintage tag. Gorgeous vintage tag. Anything vintage will get my attention. All of the other creations are great as well. Love your work.

  5. Miriam listens to audio books all the time. She’s still trying to make pencil notes in the margins! As far as I know she has never fallen asleep reading one and had to find her place. Do you think that the author would be mortified to think that her gripping prose had lulled you off to la-la land? I have never awoken to the sounds of voices in the bedroom, but I have had dreams so vivid that for a moment, on first waking, I think the people of the dream are real and present. It takes but a moment for that illusion to evaporate, however, and it’s the same old head still on the pillow and no one else around. Such is the nature of predictability. Such is the nature of joy. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Actually it's a very gripping story about the intrigues at the court of Henry VIII, but I was very tired.....always these excuses! But it really was strange to hear those voices in the night! I mostly listen to the audio books when I paint. Or I listen to classical music! Both are nice. I like the idea of pencil notes in the margins! Have a lovely day with good food, nice walks and lovely birds! Hugs, Valerie xxxxxxxxxx

  6. I have the attention span of a gnat for audio books so don't bother with them any more. I'd be listening for a good hour but only taken in the first few minutes at the most. How unnerving to wake up hearing "people" talking in your bedroom! hugs, deb

    1. Yes, you do need to concentrate when listening to books, and usually I manage well, but this time I just fell asleep! Hugs!

  7. Fabulous Vintage tag and image, love the beautiful butterfly and image. Great reposted art too, my daughter was going to buy me a kindle but I prefer to read an actual book. Enjoy whatever weather you get today-very windy but mild here.

    1. Thanks Carol! I love my Kindle as I can enlarge the print, and it is backlit. I don't see well as I have had many eye operations. Today here the weather is warm and cold, sunny and cloudy and rather unsettled! Hugs!

  8. I hate when I fall asleep and can't figure out where I was in my audio book. Good luck finding your spot. And nice tag for Sandie's challenge too. I'm enjoying a couple of beautiful days outside and then the rain is coming, so tomorrow is an art day for me. And it's great seeing the oldies, some of which I don't remember. Have a super end of your week. And enjoy your painting and books too. :) hugs-Erika

    1. Hi Erika, I found the right place in the end, but it took quite some time! Here the weather is a mix of opposites, but at least it didn't rain! Enjoy your art day tomorrow, have fun! Hugs!

  10. I remember when I got books on tape (yes, I'm that old). I don't have a kindle, but I leave the TV on all the time so the boys have company and I have background noise.

Your tag is wonderful. I have very little vintage any art, but I sure love what you made. It is wonderful. And of course, I NEVER tire seeing your faces!

I love an audio book, as it means I can multitask. I swore I would never read anything but a physical book, but then I joined an online library, and the rest is history! Lol!
Enjoy the rest of your week.

    1. Thanks Alison! I prefer reading books, but as you say, audio books let us multi task, and that's good! And as my eyesight is getting worse, it is better to hear! Hugs!

  14. I love listening to books as it is less stress on my eyes and I can listen while doing chores and driving. I listen Kindle books on the Alexa app on my phone. And epubs on another app I have on my phone.

  17. I think we've all done that -- if not with an audio book, with something on the radio! It's jarring when you wake! I especially love your profiles.

  18. Your selection of art works from past and present times is very enjoyable. “Vintage” can mean a lot of things to different people and I think you captured several of the themes.

    1. Thanks Mae - As a child I always associated vintage with the generation of my great aunts, grandma etc. Now I'm older that any of them ever were! Hugs!
