Monday-Tuesday Post

Hi Everybody!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend.  On Saturday I was out and about for a few hours with Heike. While she had her hair styled I went shopping and enjoyed a nice cappuccino while I was at it. When we were finished we went for a Saturday Soup at Cafe Schuster. Every Saturday they serve a different soup, with a nice roll and a drink. No, I didn't drink coffee with it , I took a Cola Light. We had barley soup with veggies and beef in it - delicious. And you get a huge bowl of soup. The bowls are almost as big as the potties some people used to have under their beds in the good old days!

A few weeks back I bought a new smart phone, and I have been trying and trying to get my main mail address put into it. Every time I put in the email address and password, it told me that either the name or the password was wrong. I was sure I had my name right so day by day I have been trying to find a password that might be the right one. Then I looked at it again. Names in e-mail addies are written without capital letters. And my name had a capital letter at the beginning, big and ugly. I changed it and - voilà - success at last! Honestly, how stupid can you get? I wasted hours because of this. Next time I will be more careful!

Today I have a hybrid piece for Jo's beautifully wild challenge at AJJ. The background was painted and collaged, and the beads and Alice were added digitally. I wanted it to be more than wild!

And I have some  cups ready for tomorrow! I'm showing this coffee maker again as some may have missed it at the weekend:

And this is really ugly, but he's got coffee!

And in my rather wild painting there is tea and coffee on offer!

And once again I have an eclectic mix of funnies, thinkies and photos etc:

I love taking photos of the anchor by the Rhine -  here are a few taken at different times:

Have a great start in the new week, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

  4. Glad you figured out your new phone. I recently got a new one too, why must they change so many features? CAPS LOCK key is my enemy! lol, it always finds a way of turning itself on. Good to hear you get good portions in the cafe as there's nothing worse than stingy servings. Have a great week, hugs, Deb

    1. I don't know why they always change so much. The new one is a real horror, everything is different, aaaaaaargh! Anyways, I have fought with it for just over a week, and I gthink it is now finished. In the cafe you can even get more if you want! You never leave there hungry! Have a lovely week, hugs!

  6. A new smart phone is guaranteed to induce a surge of cortisol. It’s part of the package! When I last changed my phone I made a point of looking even more befuddled than I normally am when confronted with technology, and a really nice young guy in the store did everything for me. Good thing you didn’t drop it in your rain barrel of soup! Beef, barley and veggies don’t mix well with circuitry! Glad to hear that you and Heike have been out on the town and I bet she looks spiffy with her new hair do. Give her my best. Hugs and kisses - David

    1. Here they offer a service to install your phone, but it costs between 50 and 100€, so I do it myself, and I am happy that it is now ready! No, I didn't want my phone in my lovely soup! Heike always looks good, I can't say the same about me! Enjoy your week!

Glad you solved the email issue—those little details can be tricky.
    Love your hybrid piece.
And your Rhine anchor photos are charming as always.

    Hugs and blessings, Valerie!

  9. What an amazing post. Just another reason I refuse to get a cell phone (grin). So glad you and Heike got out and had a big bowl of soup and cola.

I adore your Alice inspired hybrid art piece. This is lovely and perfect for Jo's theme at AJJ.

You found some great thinkies and funnies. Love the end of the tunnel.

You have a plethora of lovely drinks for us for T this Tuesday. I especially love the kitty and your hand painted cups and mugs. Of course, I laughed at the sign in your kitchen, too. Thanks for sharing and joining us for T this Tuesday, dear Valerie.

"Failed to publish" is back. I HATE blogger at times.

  10. The last meme made me laugh. Man, try doing that to an artist. I love the green in your first painting. The green really makes the piece so appealing. Also love the second painting with the coffee cups. It invites me in for a sip. Excellent! Have a great day, Valerie!

  11. Great post filled with art, funnies, photos and interesting things to see. Please don't call yourself stupid for not knowing that about your new phone. I refuse to get one because I know I won't be able to operate it. I'm from a different generation and find it extremely difficult to learn all these electronic things because they were not taught in school, but I know I'm not stupid! Neither are you! Glad you figured it out and had a nice day with Heike. I may not want soup for a while now with the reference of your soup bowl to a bed pan!! EWW LOL

    1. Sorry if I have put you off soup for the next few years! I think I'm used to always getting everything done straightaway with no problems, and when something doesn't work straightaway I blame myself. But you're right, I shouldn't call myself stupid....Have a great afternoon and a good, new week. Hugs!

  12. Fun piece. The giraffe yardstick can measure Alice when she grows tall. Loved the description of the soup bowl. That is a very big bowl of soup! I love beef barley soup, but way too hot for soup today. I'm making a variation of a Cobb salad, but with tuna. No cooking with the exception that I'm hard boiling a few eggs.

  15. Hi Valerie-Jael, I had to smile when you mentioned potties as i still have one. My granparents were from the Staffordshire potteries area and used to visit their family, they nearly always came back with something. Grandmother had the most amazing collection of the ceramics you would have in your bedroom and I still have some of them including the Potty. They are bright orange with black birds so I know how big they were. Take care and have a good week xXx

  16. I’ve definitely had moments like yours, when I am typing something wrong in a simple way and I can’t see it! Two times this week is my current score for that type of error. I’m glad you have overcome this one, good luck with the next!!
I like your images, your funnies, and your seemingly inexhaustible supply of Zinns.

I love all the "wild" life (not wildlife) on your page. And happy T day to you also. I hope you had a great Monday too. hugs-Erika
