Tag Tuesday - Summer holiday!

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our theme is 'summer holiday', and I have the honour of hosting. First of all I would like to thank our lovely Michele, who made such beautiful tags for her fabulous Celestial challenge over the past 2 weeks. And of course, BIG thanks to Sandie, who keeps the blog going and is also updating the blog, which was sorely necessary .

My favourite place to go on holiday in summer is, of course by the sea:

It's lovely to dive into the water and relax. The starfish is one I brought back from a holiday many years ago:

And I love to see lighthouses:

And I love watching boats or going for a harbour trip or out to an island:

And no, this is not a photo of me:

Some might prefer to go to the country or to a farm, to enjoy the simple life. I did this once - the toilet was in the middle of a muddy field and had 3 seats, so no one had to venture out alone....Never again!

The seaside is better!

Paris is always worth a holiday visit, and the food is great:

Next week I will back to show my very, very, very favourite holiday places!

Tags of all sizes and shapes are welcome at Tag Tuesday, so hope to see lots of you joining in! Have fun!

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Recently a neighbour gave me a pile of used canvases, which I am using just now. This one was first grounded with blue acrylics  and then textured with a stencil. I added book paper scraps, odds and ends of gold and pink gauze, some metallic flakes and a little square left over from another project. The white spiral is now blue! I had fun painting with different  colours , including some with metallics and some glitter - such fun! At the end I added a few gold dots. And I'm happy to say I like it. This is a box canvas, 9 x 12 inches:

And some thinkies and funnies:

Oh dear, I nearly forgot this one!

I have another journal page for Halle's 'I've got a Notion' challenge at AJJ.  This was made with recycled cardboard, some napkin scraps, and a few bits and bobs out of my bit-box. I sewed around the edges, and sewed on a scrap of lace at the bottom. Then I stenciled some dots and pasted a piece of transparent gauze over them:

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Nicole's FFO and Gillena's AFFF

Hi Everybody!

I had quite a busy day up to now, and even had to get up early - that was the worst thing! I'm always awake early, but I like to take my coffee back to bed, and then read, enjoy my coffee (and a cookie) and get up a bit later. Anyway, I digress....Today I had an appointment in Düsseldorf to get my hearing aids checked. I travelled by tram, and then walked the last bit -along Königs Allee and then through Schadow street, a huge shopping mile. And at one time an ice-cream jumped at me, so I had to buy it! Eventually I got to the hearing aid specialist, had a hearing test which showed that my hearing has got worse, and then my hearing aids were re-programmed so that they suit me perfectly. After that I went downstairs to the other department, where all the opticians are. My eyes were tested, and my sight has also got worse, so I was fitted up for new glasses. And I went a bit mad and chose red frames for them. In a few days they will be ready, and then I will go there again to collect them.

Today I have a mix of faces and some fun for FFO and AFFF:

Everything is from 2014:

This is a crazy piece I made just for fun, and with lots of faces:

I always love Pickles:

I had short hair back then, perhaps I will get it done like this again:

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Wednesday / Thursday Post

 Hi Everybody!

Time is flying and I didn't manage to do anthing today. Nothing, zero! I got up this morning as always, made mysyelf a cup of coffee and sat in my armchair to read the newspaper. Then I took another sip of coffee and it was cold. I looked at my watch and it was 6:30 in the evening. I had slept in the armchair for more than 8 hours. I was totally shocked, this has never happened before. Now it's evening and I need to at least put a post together....Lucky I always have my work done in advance!

This tag is meant for Michele's theme of 'Celestial' at Tag Tuesday. A lady, crowned with the sun on a background of night and stars in my head:

Some thinkies / funnies:

Yesterday I walked along the Rhine, the weather was beautiful:

The sky was blue:

The Ferry crossing over to our side:

And a barge passing by:
