Thursday/Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well!

Today I have an A3 piece to share  that I made in the creative therapy at the clinic. We had to choose three cards with different words and then create something to show the meaning of the words. I chose Balance, Bewegung (movement) and Ruhe (quiet). I used stencils for the ballerina and circles. I used pink and black, and sponged the background with diluted pink.

I am linking to Paint Party Friday

And I made a digitally altered version for Sheila's single flower challenge at AJJ:

The journal page fits well to Rain's TAD theme, movement / motion. And I have some photos, too:

These photos were accidentally taken while adjusting my camera on the balcony one evening:

And I always love the movement of the moon and clouds:

I re-arranged my flowers this week to make the best of those that were still good:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Stencils, stars, birds and a flower

 Hi Everybody!

Hope your week got off to a good start. Some people wanted to know what was done when I was transferred to another department in the hospital 10 days ago. If you don't like murky details, don't read on! I had been having a lot of abdominal pain for a few weeks, and although I was examined with a Sonography, an MRT and a CT they couldn't find an exact explanation, except that it was to do with the bile duct and the pancreas. So when I arrived in the hospital on the 11th, they placed an access in my arm straightaway, tested my blood again, and dressed me in one of those delightful hospital gowns. Then I was rolled in my bed to the esophago-gastro-duedenoscopy department. After having a bite ring put into my mouth, through which they could push their tubes, I heard the doctor say 'sleep well' and they got to work.  I slept! They did three different procedures. I was awake for a time in between which I spent in the recovery room before they carried on. As I was asleep, I can just tell you what's listed on the report -a duedenoscopy, an endoscopic ultrasound, an endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreaotography. During this last procedure they cut through a blockage, widened my bile duct by pulling a balloon through it several times, removed stones from the duct and then inserted a 10cm plastic stent to keep it all open and functioning. This has to be removed on the 12th April. When I woke up my throat and abdomen were very sore - no wonder - but I didn't feel too bad. Later in the evening I felt really bad, couldn't stop vomiting and had non-stop diarrhea. They had explained beforehand that the treatment could cause a pancreas inflammation, and that's what happened. I will spare you the sordid details, main thing it's over, I'm home, and it's slowly getting better.

For Sheila's single flower challenge at AJJ I have an A3 mixed media journal page made during one of the creative therapy sessions in the clinic. As I used three different stencils I want to remind you of our challenge at TIOT, use a stencil or 2:

This beautiful bunch of flowers was a present when I came home last week:

Have a great day, take care,

T sTands for This, ThaT and Tag Tuesday

Hi Everybody!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!  Sorry to moan, but I am still struggling, trying to be patient, and hoping that I soon feel fit and strong again . I have been resting, had 2 days completely at home with my feet up, and have been serving myself exquisite diet food, such as  toast, mashed potatoes, rice-pudding and tea. Coffee? No, not yet.... But soon!
This evening we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, hosted by our lovely and talented Michele, who has chosen 'mostly monochrome' as her theme. I made a coffee tag - what else - which fits this challenge and Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, where we share our beverages. Here a warm welcome to all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang!

I am still not very organised, so just have some photos from the hospital where I spent my last week. This was a kitchen - with coffee machine - for the patients. I think it was the first time in my life I have ignored a coffee machine:

My room. Meals were always served under a silver cloche even it was just bread and jam....

Or rice pudding:

The tree outside my room:

That's my door on the right:

From the window I could see all the way to Düsseldorf:

I have to go back into the hospital for a couple of days in April to have the stent removed, but I hope there will be less complications next time!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post

 Hi Everybody!

It's weekend, enjoy! I am still having a lot of after effects from the treatment and Operations in the hospital, I'm trying to be a patient patient....So I spent most of the day doing nothing!

This painting is one I made in creative therapy at the clinic. I saw a similar painting made by Effy Wild on her facebook page, and just had to case it. It's an A3 mixed media piece made with acrylics. I still like Effy's version better, but was quite satisfied with mine. I added a Horus eye to mine, just felt like it. I also made a second version of it, which I will show another time:

Tracey just reminded me that the text is not in English! The words mean: However dark and heavy the night is, love lights up the darkest dark!

And I altered it with a digital moonflower to make it fit Sheila's single flower challenge at AJJ

The past 2 days were grey and dull:

But today the sun rose in all its glory:

Have a great weekend, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!
