Wednesday/Thursday/ Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

Time has flown by and it's the middle of  the week already. There's a good quote that says,' After Monday and Tuesday the rest of the week is just WTF!'

One of the art courses I am trying just now is Find your Joy by Louise Fletcher and she has a refreshing approach to things. One of our lessons was to make something in a way we would not usually do, and then again as normal. I chose to make a face. I gave myself half an hour and ony needed just over 20 minutes. I drew a face using soft pastels, without planning beforehand. I drew a quick outline with charcoal.  I chose colours that I would not usually use. At first I thought it was horrible, but then I decided it's not so bad, I would have normally spent more time on her 'make-up' and hair.do:

Perhaps I should try to be more spontaneous!

The 2nd piece was a face for which I allowed myself an hour - much less than normal. I used phtalo blue and turquoise. The ornaments in her hair were drawn with a turquoise acryl pen. This time I needed almost the whole hour, but usually I sit for much longer!

We had some beautiful sunrises and sunsets this week:

T sTands for Tuesday on Monday once again

Hi Everybody!

This weekend has gone by very quickly. I didn't visit blogs, I didn't go anywhere, I didn't do any housework. But I did try to join in some of the many free art courses which were being offered, and had fun painting, getting my fingers dirty, and eating lots of probably unhealthy snacks. But I enjoyed them, and had a great weekend, which helped me to relax. And that is the main thing! I am just choosing a few of the many lessons being offered, more would be too much! For this lesson we had to divide a large sheet of paper  - I used A3 - with painters' tape into squares. We could choose up to 3 paints as well as black or white. I chose orange, yellow and turquoise- I kept my abstracts very simple. After I had pulled off the tape, I made some dots with acryl pens. Then I added a little cat to each square so that I can join Elle's Books, cats and tea challenge at AJJ:

This evening we will be celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday drink & link meeting, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang:

And some thinkies / funnies:

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

New challenge at AJJ -Books, cats and tea

Hi Everybody!

A new month has begun, and that means a new challenge at Art Journal Journey, and this time the lovely Elle from  Empire of the cat is hosting. She has chosen a fun theme - Books, Cats and Tea. And it doesn't always need to be all three on one journal page. You can read more on our blog here.

To start off  I made a page with all three and a bit more - the loving owner of the black and white cat, a selection of her books,  and Striker, her cat. Both of them like reading and drinking tea:

This last one is upside down so you can read the upside down script on the image the right way round. Sorry for the bad handwriting, some days I am just very shaky:

Yesterday we had a stormy evening, and I was happy that the clouds grew less so that we could see the wonderful, full moon:

And some Thinkies / Funnies - enjoy!

I am having a restful weekend, so I'll see you all again on Monday.

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
