Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a great weekend and to all in the States a happy Labor Day weekend. Here I am looking forward to a lazy weekend with some painting,  drinking coffee and talking to friends.

Today I am sharing another piece for Neet's fur or feathers challenge at AJJ. This is an A3 collage with lots of stenciling and a piece of tissue paper from Jane Davenport, with an image which I painted over.. The strange creature on the right was a magazine cut out of a highly magnified bug, which definitely has furry legs. And on the left is a dream catcher with 3 feathers. Sorry the photos aren't so good, it's difficult when I have the shakes! And I am trying to accept my shaky fingers and the sometimes poor results.

And I have some funnies and thinkies:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

2nd on the 2nd of September

 Hi Everybody!

Today is the 2nd of September, and that means it's time for Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd where we show things we have previously blogged. These journal pages are mostly from 2014 - 2016. Many are a combination of painting combined with photos, and all show birds. I am also linking to Nicole's FFO and Gillena's Friday fun:

Here are some of my silly birds:

This is one of my van Gogh knock-offs:

Back to ancient Egypt:

If you're still awake after so many pictures, well done!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

New challenge at Art Journal Journey

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at AJJ and this time the lovely Neet  of Hickydorums is hosting, and her theme is  fur or feathers. This can apply to animals and birds and any other things made of fur or feathers. Have a look at our blog and read what Neet has said.

I am starting off with an A3 journal page of watercoloured feathers inspired by a mindfulness lesson. The words I have used are from Karmand Kojouri. I added some tiny feathers, too. I mostly stick to acryl  painting, but using water colours and a smaller brush enables me to slow down a bit:

And some of the feathered creatures who live here:

That's all for today. We are looking forward to seeing your entries for Neet's theme.
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Midweek Post.

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well! We've had nice weather here, warm, but not too warm and a nice breeze. But still no rain, it's really scary!

Today I am sharing my last piece for Chris' 'when we were young' challenge at AJJ. Tomorrow we will be starting a new challenge with a great theme and another lovely host. For this journal page I have used two photos - left is a pic of my husband as a little boy, helping with the cows, and right is a pic of my great nephew fishing. The words are from a rhyme we learnt as kids. It has one verse about little girls and the other one, which is here,  about little boys:

Nice memories for me!

We had another wonderful sunrise this morning:

Yesterday I went out for coffee with Heike, and we sat there for a fun hour nattering, drinking coffee and people watching;

And a few thinkies / funnies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
