Thursday / Friday post

Hi Everybody!

Another week is speeding by, the weekend is coming nearer! Today I have a piece to share that started out more or less by accident.  This is what it looks like finished:

I started out with some cream paint which I wanted to spread with a card. When I looked it had developed sort of ridges, and I decided to make something from it instead of flattening them out. I grabbed my clay balls and pushed them into the still  wet paint:

Then I dripped some of my home made brown coffee ink over the beads:

Then I decided to add some gold:

After that I added some scraps of old letters, some gold dots, and some white feathers tipped with gold glitter:

Then I added some honey coloured glass beads:

A cut out eagle flew onto the page:

Finished:

This was a fascinating process, making something that was not planned, and not meant for any challenges, just for me. And I've made a new folder in my photos,
'just so', as I intend to make more spontaneous pieces - just so!

And I have another piece for my challenge at Tag Tuesday, dots and stripes. I am also linking to Nicole's FFO and  Gillena's Friday art day:

And some funnies to finish off:

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Tuesday Post - new challenge at Tag Tuesday

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time I am hosting. My theme is spots and/or stripes, you can read more about it on our blog here . I hope lots of people join in.  Here I glued a piece of  a jelly print made a long time  ago onto recycled cardboard. I added the stripes by hand, the spots were made with a stencil:

. The striped legs were on my table, as was the leopard:

This morning early I went with my neighbour to our Aldi store, which is right under the flight path of incoming planes:

They seem to fly so low I'm always scared they will knock down the lights:

I took the photos with my smart phone, they're not so good, but I think you can get the idea:

And it's very, very loud, the planes arrive every minute or so.

Monday Post

 Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a good, new week, with perhaps less heat than we had last week! I had a good rest over the weekend, it was cooler, there was a breeze and it was perfect for sitting on the balcony with a cup of cappuccino.

For Chris's challenge 'when we were young' at AJJ I have a journal page about  my 'dream house'. This was when I was 4-5 years old, and I loved reading the books about Little Noddy and his friends. The books were from Enid Blyton, and showed how all these little people lived in Toy land and had wonderful adventures. They lived in tiny mushroom houses, and I wanted to live there, too. I used to pretend I could shrink myself  till I was small enough to live there. Imagination is a wonderful thing! This is one of the scenes from the original books, and Little Noddy and Big Ears are having a meal.

And this is my dream house:

This evening we will be celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies who visit here. The picture of Noddy and Big Ears is very suitable for our T Day party! And I have a photo from my fave coffee shop:

And some thinkies / funnies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

I'm happy to say that we are are having a short break in the hot and humid weather. It has been 32° and more inside my apartment, and that is just too much for me at my age. It's so good to breathe cool air again!

Today I have another piece for Chris's 'When we were young' challenge at AJJ. This is an elephant I painted after a lesson from Tam in the kaleidoscope revival. It brought back happy memories of going with my great auntie Fanny to the Zoo in London. I loved all the animals, but the elephant was so magnificent, and I even got to ride on it! I was so proud, and it's a memory I never want to forget! My elephant is more colourful than the one in the zoo. I messed up the background with coffee - what else? - so I cut out the elephant and collaged it onto an A3 sheet with some other bits and bobs from my untidy work table:

Some sky pics:

And some funnies:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
