T sTands for This and That on Monday

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a good start in the new week. Today I have a new tag for Michele's blue and orange challenge at Tag Tuesday. The background was made with a left over piece of painted paper, then collaged, stitched, and given a few flowers and feathers. You still have a week to join us:

My types today are numbers. I used another page from the giant Webster's dictionary for the background, and gave it a coat of diluted gesso. For the numerals I used  a stencil for the larger ones, and then fussy cut them. The smaller ones are stickers. I am linking to Neet's type challenge at AJJ:

This evening we will be celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang who visit here:

And my friends had ice, which I mustn't eat at the moment as it is not good for my pancreas :(

 

At the Wednesday market they were selling coffee too:

I baked a lemon cake, help yourselves, there's plenty there:

Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!
It's weekend, enjoy! 

Today I am sharing a colourful A3 mixed media piece. The background was painted over a brush- and brayer-wipe page, and I used cut-outs from magazines to collage it, plus a couple of heads from my stash - sounds brutal, doesn't it?! The wavy lines were cut from a piece of painted paper, and the sentiment was stenciled. I'm sure I don't need to tell you which song it's from! I am linking to Neet's type challenge at AJJ:

I made a mistake while doing the text, and had to paint over it. If you look carefully you can see it! But the unevenly spaced letters were meant to be so - not all types are straight types:

Thursday / Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

Today I have another A3 mixed media collage which I am linking to Neet's type challenge at AJJ and to Paint Party Friday. It's rather bright, you might just need your shades:

Rain's Thursday art date this week is weather and weather lore. I have chosen some photos showing my fave types of weather.

I love frost and mist, which often go hand in hand here, and if I wake to a scene like this I pack myself in warm clothes and go out and take photos, even before I drink my coffee:

We also have lots of clouds and sunshine:

Sometimes there's snow:

And lately we had enormous amounts of storms, rain and destruction from the floods here, and in other countries many people have lost everything in the devastating fires. If we don't all start to do something to save the climate  now it will be too late. I'm not showing the photos again, but I think most people have already seen them:
