Weekend post

Hi Everybody!

Friday has been another day of  non-stop rain, but I still enjoyed my walks, more or less. I'm always thankful for waterproof clothing, boots and brollies!

Today I had a little playtime in my digital programme. I started off with an A3 mixed media journal page made long ago using left over red and black paint and stencils:

After importing it into my digital programme I copied it several times and layered them over each other, reducing the size each time. This was harder than it looks, but much better than doing housework! Then I added the text, which also had to be copied in various sizes onto each layer. Ad infinitum means again and again, or can be used in the sense of forever:

I had fun playing on this wet and dark afternoon. I am linking to Yvonne's words and numbers challenge at Art Journal Journey

Thursday was a dry day, crisp and cold, and I took a walk 'on the dark side' along the Rhine after Art Group, and enjoyed the beautiful colours and atmosphere very much:

And later in the evening I got some shots of the moon before it clouded over again:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Rain's Thursday Art Date - cosy

Hi Everybody!

Rain's theme this week is cosy, just right for this wet and rainy weather here. I walked a lot in the rain again, I think I will soon develop webbed feet if it doesn't stop raining!

What is cosy? In Germany we say 'gemütlich'. For me it means things like sitting in a warm room, cuddled up in a warm blanket, drinking my fave hot drinks, wearing thick woolly socks, cooking and eating warm soups and stews, baking cakes and biscuits, enjoying flickering candle light and many more things.

Today I spent time with Nathalie in my arty kitchen, baking and decorating cookies. Nathalie had such fun with rolling out pastry, cutting it out and then decorating it with lots of chocolate, icing sugar, sprinkles, stars etc. Usually when I bake I aim to get everything perfect, which is sometimes stressful. Nathalie just had fun, splurging the sprinkles like some rich people throw money around, splodging the icing and chocolate, noshing and finger-licking, and this did me good, this was a cosy way of doing things!

Peeping into lit-up windows from outside is cosy:

Cuddling and having fun - also cosy:

Drinking coffee - cosy:

Candlelight - cosy:

The smell of fresh, buttery shortbread makes me feel cosy:

Jam tarts filled with home-made ginger and strawberry preserves:

Hot Glühwein (mulled wine) and cocoa with Bailey's make you feel very cosy at the Christmas markets even on the coldest days:

Have a cosy day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Midweek post

Hi Everybody!

Today we had a whole day with no rain. It was frosty cold all day, just great for walking. But don't worry, tomorrow will be wet and windy again!

I have another tag for Joan's challenge at Tag Tuesday:

And this is a WIP, an A3 book I am making to store art pages, with lots of gold, embossing, leaves which were hand-cut and sewn on etc. I hope I will sooner or later have time to finish it:

It's cold and wintry, the Rhine is full of cold water, and the water fowl love it:

And this little robin was sitting on the railing. Sorry, the pic is a bit fuzzy:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
