T sTands for This and ThaT

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week got off to  good start. On Tuesday's it's time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday party, so here a warm welcome to all ladies taking part. My drink is cappuccino, here seen in my huge Christmas mug:

The moon on Friday was huge and red, a wonderful sight:

At the beginning of November G & I visited the Gruga Park in Essen, and I already showed a lot of the photos. Today I have some from the coffee garden there, where there is also a cafe, unfortunately only open in the summer months! But the garden itself had a lot of information about coffee:

There was also an Osage orange tree there with rather strange fruits, huge and looking a bit like green brains. The notice is to warn people that fruits can fall down and hit you.... We picked up one of the fruits and G put it on the post. You can read more about it here:

We also visited the hot-houses:

There were oranges and lemons growing on one tree here:

A beautiful olive tree:

A reading corner for a welcome break:

And a collection of lovely bonsai trees:

There is a Ronald-MacDonald children's house in the park, built by Friedensreich Hundertwasser. I just have 3 photos from Wikipedia to show, my camera was full. But I have a new and super-large memory card in the meantime, so this won't happen again:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend post

Hi Everybody!

It's been a cold, grey and rainy day today, but we badly need the rain, so I'm not complaining, especially as we had a sunny day yesterday.
For Joan's challenge 'Tic tac toe' at Tag Tuesday I have another tag, this time using the bottom row of the grid, stenciling (cat and mouse), punch (corners) and ribbon at the top, and all done digitally - it's fun playing with a digital airbrush for the stenciling. The background is hand-painted:

Yesterday was cold but sunny, and I enjoyed an extra walk along the Rhine just before the sun went down:

And of the way back home I passed by the 'winter-village', our little Christmas market:

My fave booth - Reibekuchen!

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

More this and that

Hi Everybody!

Another week is speeding by and there never seems to be enough time to do everything I would like to. Once again, I gave housework a miss and used my time wisely for playing in my arty kitchen, going for walks in the cold, crisp air and reading good books. It has got much colder, but yesterday was sunny, and I enjoyed walking briskly through the fields and along the Rhine. The Christmas market is almost ready to start, so I'm looking forward to crispy Reibekuchen (fried potato cakes) and perhaps a mug of Glühwein (hot, spiced wine). I managed to fill some more pages in my journal and make some more tags, too. I'll start with the tag for Joan's Tic-tac-toe challenge at Tag Tuesday, using the last row from top to bottom. The leaves/wings of my little boy are the re-used items:

This double page in my journal was made using scraps of JD tissues, collage parts from a printed sheet, washi tape and lots of colour added with Pitt pens, gelatos and JD pens over a gessoed background. I very much enjoy making pages like this, just slapping on the layers and colours and having fun, with no particular theme or aim. It is most relaxing:

I am linking to Paint Party Friday

This morning the wood pigeons are I were all watching the sunrise:

I enjoyed another afternoon walk at the Rhine:

Happy Thanksgiving to all friends in the USA:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
