Hues of Autumn

Hi Everybody!

Today it's time for Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd and for Paint Party Friday.
I am re-showing 2 A3 mixed media pieces. The background in both was painted and the central part was collaged out of various photos and copies of painted pieces. The 'self-portrait' is the one I use for my avatar, although my hair is longer these days and I've got new glasses:

Here the background was painted and stamped. The photo shows the lane leading past the castle ruins superimposed with a photo of an iron watchman taken in Kettwig, a nearby town.

The heron was here near the house, sitting just under the little bridge over the stream:

Colourful

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. It's another grey day here, but the sun did show itself for a few minutes this morning, and it's not quite as cold and windy as it was, so that's good!
Today I am sharing an A3 mixed-media collage, made using strips of JD wrapping paper and  washi-tapes collaged onto a painted and stamped background. As you can't see the BG anymore, perhaps I could have done without it! I used stencils to doodle over it, did a modge-podge tissue transfer, and added some stamping and a hand-written sentiment. I am linking to Simon Monday challenge, take flight, and Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin, and Simon Wednesday challenge, anything goes:

The photos were taken in the past 2 weeks in Hofgarten, Schloss Kalkum (a moated castle) and here:

T stands for Tools of The Trade

Hi Everybody!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend, and wish you a great week.
It has got very cold here, we have icy blasts blowing down from the North Pole. A week ago we were still in short sleeves. Yesterday I had to dress in my full winter outfit to walk for an hour along the Rhine, and had to walk very quickly to keep warm! I enjoyed my home-made pumpkin soup all the more when I got back home.

Tuesday is Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday party, and we are also one week into our Edgar Alan Poe challenge at Tag Tuesday, so you still have a week to cook up some scary stuff for it. I used images from LONS, Gecko Galz and Serif, combined with  an EAP quote to make my scary tag:

Hmm, I was out and about a lot this week and seem to have had a lot of coffee:

These pictures are from the 'Heimat' (Home) museum we visited some time back in Abtsküche, showing the school room and old tools etc:

We still had desks like these at school!

Hope you enjoyed this little journey into yesteryear.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
