Having colourful fun

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well.

Today I am sharing 2 journal spreads made in the past couple of weeks. I am enjoying using lots of colour and some of my Jane Davenport goodies. Here I used some bits of tissue paper and 2 different sorts of washi tape. Stencils were used to add the hearts and stars. The 'eye candy' is a die from JD. The background was painted with water colours and I added some splodges with it, too. I am linking to Paint Party Friday, and Simon Monday challenge, use more than one stencil.

The second spread was just made for fun. I drew the girls with water colours. The words are from Dina Wakley, the old girls from TH

After visiting Neviges and the Mariendom (photos were shown in the previous posts) we visited this beautiful little lake at a place called Abtsküche (Abbots kitchen). There used to be a priory here, and a house where food was cooked for the Abbot and his brothers:

Can you see what's on that log?

I counted 14 turtles in all - I have never seen so many at once!

T stands for Peace

Hi Everybody!

On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and our lovely and very talented Wilma chose the theme of 'peace', as it is the anniversary of the awful attack on the Twin Towers in New York in 2001. I hope a lot of people will join us to remember this awful day and all the people who lost their lives in that senseless act of terror. I made a simple tag, but please take a look at the beauties Wilma created for us on our TT blog. I used blue card to represent the blue skies, the white dove of peace, ( a Sizzix die-cut) and a white rose for those who lost their lives:

Tuesday is also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so here a warm welcome to all of the lovely ladies of the T gang.

I visited my friend N. We had a wonderful meal of  stir-fried veggies with chicken. My drinks were water and coffee:

Later we went for a little walk and ended up eating frozen yogurt at Yamaro's - yummy!

Today I have more photos to share, this time from the Mariendom (Church) in Neviges.  As I wrote last week, the Church is a huge, cement building, like an over-dimensional tent, built in the brutalist style. Inside it is very impressive. It is always dark inside, there are just a few spotlights and the wonderful stained glass windows to let in some light:

The rose, symbolizing Mary, is a recurrent theme there:

Weekend this and that

Hi Everybody!

Another week has sped by and it's Friday already - where did the time go? I ask this question every week, and never have an answer!

I am showing another spread in my journal, made this week at art group. I used a Jane Davenport tissue, adding colourful splatters, splodges and spots with water colours to the opposite page to coordinate. The birds were stenciled with a Diane Reavley stencil. I am linking to Paint Party Friday:

And I have an autumn tag. The image is from Gecko Galz and printed onto canvas. I used some natural dried plants and some fabric leaves embossed with Frantage white. The feather was picked up on one of my walks:

And I have more of the old houses from Neviges which I visited last Sunday. You can see the other photos here and here:
