Winter blues

Hi Everybody!
Hope your week is going well!
Today I have an A3 mixed media piece to share.
It was started back in 2010 and finally finished
last week. The BG was painted
with blue and green acrylics with a touch of gold
and purple. I discovered some shadowy figures
there and outlined them with white.
The figures with hats were drawn using
Mr Umbrella Man minus his brolly as a stencil.
I added 2 gravestones with Hebrew alphas which show the
abbreviation for 'here lies'. I was reading a spooky story
which perhaps explains the strange thoughts on the page!
I added some Hebrew alpha stickers and some
small birds as embellishments.
I am linking to Simon Monday Challenge,
winter blues, and to That's crafty,
feeling blue

For Wilma's challenge at Tag Tuesday, new beginnings,
I have another hybrid tag, using a hand-painted
BG and a face I collaged from a magazine;

The Rhine has stopped rising. Now we just need to wait for the
water to subside. Here are the rest of Sunday's photos:

I'm hoping for less rain in the coming weeks!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T stands for TIOT and more

Hi Everybody!
Hope your week has got off to a good start.
The Rhine is still flooding here. My buddy G
came yesterday afternoon and we went for
a quick walk to look at it. Today the high water
is supposed to reach its zenith, so I hope it will
be receding after that. At least it's dry today.

On Tuesday we are beginning a new challenge at
Try it on Tuesday -my favourite things.
I chose die-cuts, fabric and sewing to create my piece.
The background is canvas. The birds were die-cut
from pink satin, the words from paper painted black.
The wings were die-cut from sequined fabric, and I added
a little padding while sewing them down.
As always, projects of all formats are allowed
and you have 2 weeks to link to us:

It's also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday
party, so here a warm welcome to all of the
friendly ladies of the T gang. I made a hybrid page
using a photo of my fave cappuccino and ameritini
cookies taken in Cafe Burghof next to the castle ruins:

And now some photos taken on yesterday's walk.
The meadows where the horses usually are:

The meadows with the Rhine in the background:

This stream is usually just a trickle of water. It has now
completely covered the bridge and the footpath along the Rhine:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

A bit of this and a bit of that

Hi Everybody!

I stayed home today, watched TV, read a book and
rested. I need to take antibiotics again for another
10 days, as my cold and cough have got bad again.
I had some computer playtime, and made a
hybrid page with spring colours. I used elements
from Serif and me placed on a handpainted
and textured background:

The water in the stream next to the house and in
the Rhine is very high:

The walkway along the embankment is closed,
but people were still walking there

Here the water is already on the level of the path and fields:

And Here are some more of my birthday presents.
These lovely presents were from my buddy G:

Here you can see it from the other side:

And here the contents of the packages:

From N & N I got this voucher for a day out at the wonderful
zoo in Arnhem, Holland, and I am looking forward
to this trip very much:

This huge orchid plant was a gift from H, it is about a yard
high.  I was very lucky to get such lovely gifts.
Thanks you guys!

The wolf's moon this week shone through the
clouds:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
