Autumn, a time of transition

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing you all a happy October. This is one of my
fave months, what with Autumn and then Halloween,
so I'm hoping we'll get some good weather.
I am starting to feel better - not yet quite back to
'normal' - whatever that might be - but on the right way.
I will be taking things easier the next couple of weeks and
hope that will help, so may not be blogging as much as usual.
Tomorrow is Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd, so I am re-showing
an A3 mixed media collage made last year. This piece reminds me
very much of autumn - the seasons flying past and plants
and animals settling in for their winter sleep; everything slowing
down and beginning to fade. The butterflies and
dragonflies are there showing the hope that the circle of life
will start again next spring:

As I haven't been able to get out, I took photos from my balcony
yesterday, just showing the trees and their various colours:

Then I took pictures of the remaining plants on my balcony - not
really exciting, but I like to record the transition between
summer and autumn:

These are tiny, about 1/2" in diameter:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Autumn trees

Hi Everybody!

Today I have an A5 mixed media piece, using distressed
canvas, corrugated cards and metal foil.
The foil was embossed in a TH folder, and then sanded. I added
the autumn leaves using various colours of gilding flakes. The
beads were sewn on to make some 'plants' along the bottom. I sewed
it all together, as per usual. I am linking to Simon Monday Challenge,
heavy metal, and to Yvonne's lovely 'Colour in my world' theme
at Art Journal Journey, which is now almost over.
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday. Once again, I am happy
that I always have a good selection of not yet shown
creations in my 'store cupboard':

And some more Autumn photos from this time last year:

Thanks again for all the well wishes. I'm still feeling
rather tacky, but I think it's a tad better than it was,
so that's positive.

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Mellow Autumn

Hi Everybody!

For Yvonne's lovely theme of 'Colour in my world' at
Art Journal Journey I have a mixed media piece, 9 x 7". The main
image is from Gecko Galz and has been printed onto canvas, and then
sewed onto recycled and distressed cardboard. I added some
acorns and oak  leaves supplied by the trees in front of our house,
tied into a little bundle with some string.
I'm glad I always work in advance and have some
pieces ready to share!

For Paint Party Friday I am re-showing an A3 mixed media piece
made some time back. The BG was created with paints and brushos
and then stamped with my swirls stamp. The dragonflies were
stenciled, as was the title. The bird was painted, and the leaves
were cut from painted and embossed paper. The feathers were
added to make a nest:

And here some autumn photos taken in previous years, I have not
been able to get out this week. Thanks to those who sent well
wishes, they were much appreciated. I hope to be able to be out
and about again next week, but I will stay home for the
next couple of days:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
