More this and that

Hi Everybody!

On the fifth of each month we start a new challenge at
Our challenges are, as always, anything goes,
with pink as an optional extra.
Hope to see lots of you joining in, you have 4 weeks
to link to us!

I made an A3 mixed media piece. The background was gessoed,
painted with light grey and some madder red, and textured with a brayer.
The Banksy stencil is a freebie from Stencilry.org. The tulips
are from a paper napkin, applied with matte medium. The dots were also added
with a stencil, as was the text.

I am also linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin.

For Tag Tuesday, Chrissie's 'faces' challenge, I made a cow tag.
The cow is from a photo taken near here last year. I love watching
cows, and just love their eyes. My mum always called me cow face
when I was a kid - believe me, that was one of her nicer
sayings, the majority were not printable! But it never
worried me as I just like cows! I painted
my version of the face, and then digitally added a filter to
give it more interest. After printing out the image I placed it
on a piece of glassine paper, which had been given a lick
of blue metallic paint from Inca Gold, and then
embossed. I made 2 rows of stitching to hold the tag
and the 2 different backings together. I am also linking

On Sunday we had a nice sunrise, the rest of the week has been
cold and wet!

Frida, flowers and more

Hi Everybody!

Here it was  wet and drippy today, but  I'm trying not
to complain as we need the rain. To add insult to
injury I was feeling sick and dizzy all day -
it can only get better!

Today I have another tag to share for Tag Tuesday,
hosted by dear Chrissie this time, with the theme of faces. I used
a print out of a Frida face drawn with charcoal a couple of years back,
and digitally altered to give the lace effect. I mounted the tag on
various coordinating papers and added 2 rows of sewing.
The gold lace scrap was sent to me by my lovely friend
Jackie - thanks again, and I added
the textile flowers to her crown. The bird is one of my
balcony visitors. I added the Frida quote on a stamped
TH ticket. I am also linking to Go Tag Thursday, tickets:

At Digitally Made Challenges the theme is anything goes,
and at Art Journal Journey, our lovely Gill has chosen the theme
of 'grunge and elegance'. I made a digital journal page
using images from Mischief Circus, Serif and me:

The photos were from my morning walks at the weekend:

T sTands for loTs of This and ThaT for Tuesday

Hi Everybody!

Tuesday is always a busy blog day, and this one will be no exception!
We are celebrating a new challenge at Tag Tuesday,
2nd on the 2nd, so I am trying to pack it
all under one hat today.

At Tag Tuesday our host this week is my lovely friend Chrissie,
and her theme is faces.
I made a mixed media tag, using a corrugated cardboard
substrate, which was gessoed, inked and
embossed with Frantage EPs. The image is my version of
Modigliani's painting of Max Jacobs.  I  'cased' a whole
row of his wonderful portraits a couple of years back.
Here the image was digitally cut out, and placed onto
a grungy background - a piece of an old wall by the
castle ruins, onto which I superimposed some
Hebrew lettering. I sewed all the layers together, and added
some studs and a Ticket made with 2 TH stamps.
If you look  closely you can see I stamped it
upside down, perhaps so that Max can read it?! I am also
linking to Go Tag Thursday, where the theme is tickets.

Here I would like to welcome all the nice ladies
of the T Gang.
For Elizabeth's TSFT and for 2nd on the 2nd I have a
hybrid piece made a year or two back. The sunshine in my cup has to
be coffee!

Last Tuesday we were given a tour of the old buildings of the
Diakonie. Florence Nightingale was a student nurse here.

The old Chapel has been modernised inside, which makes it
very light and airy. I love the contrast between the old, wooden fixtures
and the white simplicity:

The gardens were beautiful, too:

The tour was a little (lot!) longer than anticipated,
so some of us skived off and went to the ice parlour....
This time I'm showing the mug of tea one of the others
was drinking:

And before I forget, a quick reminder that you still have a
week to join our 'transport' challenge
at TIOT.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
