Who's eating the flowers?

Hi Everybody!

The week is flying by again, and I never seem to get
everything done that  I would like to do, but I suppose
that's what tomorrows are for.

I made a mixed media spread in my 2nd new journal. The background
was made with a piece of marbled paper made
some time back. I added Banksy's little girl with the
balloon using a stencil from Stencilry. org.  The quote
fits well to the image, and is really true.
The birds were drawn with felt pens.
I am linking to Art Journal Journey, Hazel's magical
mystery tour, and to Paint Party Friday

The mixed media tag made with recycled cardboard and scraps
is meant for Tag Tuesday, things with wings
You have until next Monday evening to
link your creations to us, and Joan is offering
a lovely prize:

Last week while walking through the park of the Diakonie
I noticed this tree, surrounded by a chain and three
stones carved with Latin words -
jubilate, floreat and crescat  (rejoice, bloom, grow)
There's a date, too, (1887) perhaps when the tree was planted, but I
haven't yet found out why it was planted and decorated like this -
I will let you know when I have found the solution!

Love the colour of the blossoms:

The old cart hasn't fallen apart yet!

Another wonderful sunrise:

Yesterday I went for a walk to the moated castle of
Schloss Kalkum with some friends.  We stood for some time and
watched this little nutria by the moat, as he held stalk after stalk in
his front paws and nibbled off the flowers, so pretty.
He was not at all concerned that we were standing there watching him:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T stands for Tuesday, TIOT and Tag Tuesday

Hi Everybody!

Tuesday is another day to celebrate all the Ts -

At TIOT we are starting a new challenge -

Add a Quote.

As always, projects of all formats are welcome,
and you have 2 weeks to link your creations.
Hope to see YOU there!

I made a mixed media tag, using a napkin on a gessoed and
collaged background.  The clock was added with a stencil
(LaBlanche). I added some Frantage EP to add texture, a
computer generated quote, and sewed the tag to a
coordinating backing. The embellishments were added
using silicone glue.

Today is half time at our challenge at Tag Tuesday, I have a tag
made from recycled and inked cardboard. I dipped the tag in Utee,
and stamped into it while it was hot. I added some recycled paper scraps
and some textile flowers. The wings are die-cuts from LaBlanche.
I added a little bit of 'nature' to round it off. Hope you find time to join
us in the coming week!

At Elizabeth's blog we meet every Tuesday to share our drinks
and more. I hope the link will be possible today, poor Elizabeth
is having big problems with her blog.

On Saturday I met up with some friends in the Altstadt. We started
with coffee and cake. I chose this marzipan and cherry jelly tartlet:

The others took 'Bienenstich' , a cake with vanilla pudding and
caremelised almonds:

And our drink was coffee:

The Altstadt was full of visitors. We enjoyed looking at
these little carts, which can drive 90 kilometers an hour:

There were thousands of people at the restaurants and cafes
along the Rhine, I would not have enjoyed sitting there:

I love these figures on the advertising columns:

Lots of Easter decorations in the shop windows:

How much is that doggy in the window?

The Tour de France will be starting here in the Altstadt:

And last but not least, another drink:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Sunday This and That

Hi Everybody!
I've just been watching the sun rise up through the
morning mist, and it looks like it will be a
beautiful Sunday, so hope your day will
be good, too.

Yesterday I was awake very early, as always, and had time
for some crafting before I went for my morning walk.
This mixed media tag is meant for  Things with Wings, at
The background is part of a motherboard I made recently,
using the cardboard backing from a sketch pad, which was gessoed,
painted, sprayed and splashed - fun! I used some
three dimensional flower and insect stickers I
recently discovered in one of my many boxes, and put them
round a vintage image (LaBlanche). I added some lace and a
ribbon hanger, and fixed it all to the painted background.

This tag is for Sandie's Go Tag Thursday Challenge, where
the theme is stamps - either postage ones or rubber ones,
so I used both. The background image is from Gecko Galz
and has been mounted onto a piece of mirri-card. I added
a postage stamp, and then used some mail-art stamps. I sewed it
onto a piece of peeled cardboard which was gessoed and then
dipped in Utee EP.

These photos were taken on my walk to the Rhine
yesterday:

I love the fresh green of the pollard willows on the meadows:

I always enjoy walking through these tall trees:

The avenue of chestnut trees leads to the Ferry:

This tree at the 'Diakonie' is the loveliest one of all:

In the afternoon I met up with friends in the Altstadt (old town)
but more about that another time.
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
