Waiting for spring

Hi Everybody!

It's been a cold, wet and windy Sunday here -
we only saw the sun at sunrise, and then
it stayed home the rest of the day, so
I did the same.

And I consoled myself with a journal page where
the weather looks better....I made a collage using paper napkins,
stamping, doodling and painting with water colours:

I am linking to Allsorts Challenge, anything goes, and
More Mixed media, anything goes

For Art Journal Journey, Linda's lovely theme of '50 shades of red',
I have a hybrid piece, using a sunrise photo as BG,
and a face image from dear Gill:

Tuesday is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday,
where we 'meet' to share our drinks and
sometimes more, so come on in ladies, and help yourselves:

Coconut bars:

I visited the K20 and 21 Museums on Saturday, and was
once again wowed by the wonderful architecture, especially
in the K21:

I will show the photos of the exhibition another day.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Buddha, trains and spring flowers

Hi Everybody!
Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.

For Linda's lovely challenge, '50 shades of red' over at Art Journal Journey I have a hybrid piece, combining a collage/painting with  a
background from Gill and a filter from my stash

For Sandie's Go Tag Thursday I have a sideways tag today,
the theme is cogs and wheels. I tried to stage a Victorian station
with lots of locs (Lost Coast), and some strange figures from Paper Artsy. On the other platform, almost hidden in the steam, you can see the Bronte sisters.

I am sharing some more photos from the Town Museum,
especially of these wonderful ovens and chimneys, some
with wonderful blue Delft tiles:

And I liked this organ - perhaps instead of a hi-fi sound system?

We had a lot of clouds passing through yesterday,
but it stayed dry:

My fave flower shop has moved to a new location with more space:

Have a great day, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Mix

Hi Everybody!

It's Friday, which means it's soon weekend - enjoy!

Last week I made this little album by recycling a blouse
which I did not like wearing. I utilized the snap-fasteners
from the front to make the clasp. The pocket was made from a
piece of the sleeve. There are 2 signatures inside, also machine sewn,
and once again with smaller, concertina pages in
between for private journaling. I am linking to

And for Art Journal Journey I have a hybrid page for Linda's lovely
theme of '50 shades of red' - there's always lots of red in my beloved London:

Today I am sharing some photos taken in the Town Museum
(Stadtmuseum) in the Altstadt of Düsseldorf, and these ones
are all about 'Mother Ey'
Johanna Ey (1864-1947) was a lady, born near Düsseldorf,
who kept a cafe in Düsseldorf's Altstadt and this developed into a meeting point
for artists, authors and especially painters. She was well known for
giving artists and students credit and taking pictures as payment . She opened
a gallery nearby where she showed their pictures. With the rise of the National Socialists all of her proteges, including many famous names - Jankel Adler, Adolf Dell, Otto Dix, Max Ernst,Bruno Goller, Adolf de Haer, Otto Pankok. Jacobo Dureda,Gert Wollheim - to name just a few-were banned and their art was forbidden.. Many of 'her' artists painted her, and a selection of her portraits are shown here. Her name is very well known in Düsseldorf, and there is a street named after her:
At the moment there is an Otto Dix exhibition in town, so I am going to see it tomorrow .

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
