This and that for the weekend

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend - enjoy!

For Art Journal Journey, Indian summer, I have 2 pieces today.
The first is a hybrid piece, using a painted, stamped and dripped background, one of 'my' faces and some digital elements:

The second piece was made using leftovers in my 2nd 'new' journal. I die cut leaves from a sheet of painted and stamped paper, and found the pieces which remained too good to throw away, so added some doodling and stamping and made them into this simple spread:

I am also linking to Paint Party Friday

Last weekend I visited Duisburg, a neighbouring town again.
This sculpture is called 'Hommage à Mercator' and was made by Friedrich Werthmann:

I discovered lots more fragments of the mediaeval walls and towers:

This sculpture is in a fountain, which wasn't working because of street works:

This seems to be another piece connected to Mercator:

,

I loved this statue-
looks like someone very tired after a long day out shopping:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

I am the dream

Hi Everybody!

Today I have 2 pieces for Art Journal Journey, Indian summer,  and Paint Party Friday.
The first piece is an A3 mixed media page. The background was painted, sprayed and dripped. I used various stencils and colours to add depth, and an enlarged Mr Umbrella man stencil. The text was made with  a stencil from Stencilry.

This a hybrid collage page made with a photo taken from my window, my balcony blackbird and a window frame which was added digitally. I used a digital filter to soften the edges of the photo and added some text.

Last week I hopped on the tram and went to the North Park,
a very well kept park with wonderful
plants all year round.

And of course, I found some ducks and other birds who
gladly shared my  bread:

One part is a Japanese Zen garden, a wonderful and
peaceful place to take a break and
leave the world outside:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

New challenge at Moo Mania and More

Hi Everybody!
Our new challenge at Moo Mania and More is

**Halloween Party**

So fly over, park your brooms, drink a goblet of inspiration potion and have some wicked, magical fun. I made a hybrid page,
using a photo taken one night from my balcony,
and adding some scary elements:

As always, you have 2 weeks to cast your spells and create your work,
and projects of all formats are welcome!
I am also linking to Art Journal Journey, Indian summer,
as Halloween is its magical closure.

This morning I heard the wild geese honking as I was drinking
my first coffee, and just made it onto the
balcony in time to see them flying overhead -
I was only able to get one shot before they were gone:

A few minutes later the sun rose:

The sheep have now wandered to new pastures further along the Rhine, but I
visited once more before they left. I think the appealing thing about watching animals or birds is that they just live in the moment, and seem to make the best of it:

This afternoon we had a mix of sun and clouds along the Rhine:

Another huge ship:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
