Tuesday This and That and Elizabeth's Cat

Hi Everybody!

Today is Tuesday, which means it's the day between Monday and Wednesday.
And as well as that, it's also time for Tag Tuesday, where our theme is
shabby chic, and for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday - here a big 'hello' to all of the T gang and everyone else who drops in. I would also like to remind you that it's half time over at TIOT, where our mood-board challenge will be running for another week, so you have plenty of time to get in your lovely projects with spring colours.

My tag for tag Tuesday is quite simple. I used an image from Gecko Galz, printed out a few years back, when I accidentally printed out a whole pile of images instead of just one. I placed the lady on a corrugated card tag, peeled, painted white, and with some Utee gold drizzled round the edges. I added lots of flowers, to her hat as well, some lace and a butterfly, and some pink fibres.

For T stands for Tuesday I made a tea-party page. I am also linking to Art Journal Journey, for the record, inspired by the song 'Tea for Two', sung so unforgettably by Doris Day back in 1950.

And last but not least, some photos taken on my walk today, at the Rhine, by the Basilica and through the Marien Hospital gardens:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by, always nice to see you!

Swap pages

Hi Everybody!

Today I am showing some mixed media pages I made for a swap organized by dear Elizabeth.
There are 6 of us taking part, and we send loose pages (tip ins) to a different participant each month, made specially to their chosen theme.
In March I sent my pages to Annette, whose theme is proverbs/sayings, and as they reached her on March 25th I can now show them. I was under a lot of stress to get the pages done, as I had my big knee operation and then boot camp, which didn't leave much time or energy for crafting. So I took my inspiration from some journal pages I made a few years back, and then, once I got started, things were a bit easier. I hope Annette is not totally unsatisfied with her pages.

I used a quote from Harry Potter for the first pages, and
a verse from Proverbs for the second set. I stitched 2 pages together each time to make them more stable. The shorter pages are meant to go between the larger ones to connect them.

The reverse side:

I wrote the quote from Proverbs in Hebrew and English:

This is the tag I sent with it:

And the accompanying card:

That's all for today, I didn't have time to process today's photos.
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by.

Lady in lace

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, for the record, I have a hybrid piece inspired by the song 'Lady in lace' (Stained glass)
written by Jim McPherson in the 60s, a little blast from the past.

The Matisse figures were drawn onto 2 sorts of  DP and fussy cut.
I then digitally added the lacy shadows and placed them on a grungy background.

And some photos with spring feeling:

Yesterday the electric fence appeared on the meadow:

Today my friends the horses were back, and busy grazing, as always:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Thinking back to my time in Liverpool

Hi Everybody!

Before I moved to Germany I spent the last year or so living in Liverpool, on the corner of Penny Lane and Dudley Road, so this song from the Beatles always had a big significance for me. I composed the middle part from various elements and photos in my graphics programme, pasted it onto an A3 gessoed page, and extended the centre part with Gelatos and pastel chalks. Then I added the fussy cut pillar-box, little girl and cyclist, some music washi tape, and some stenciled birds.
I am linking to Art Journal Journey, for the record, and Moo Mania and More, music.

I love it when a frosty night is followed by a misty morning, and it is always special to see the sun sailing up through the mist:

My visitor was sitting patiently in the tree waiting for me to stop playing around and put out some food - and the leaves on the trees are now really visible:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

He's got the whole world....

Hi Everybody!

It's time for Paint Party Friday again, and my mixed media piece is also meant for Art Journal Journey, for the record, and Moo Mania and More, music.
My A3 page has been gessoed, painted, collaged and stamped. I am sure some of you know this folk song. I started off with the newspaper cut-out of the young man and the globe, collaged more cut outs, and added various family photos . Then I filled in the rest with stamps (mostly from Lost Coast Designs) and a stencil of Mr Umbrella Man.  The photos are members of my family, old and new, and I'm there, too.

Sunrise is always one of my fave times:

And then I had a nice walk over the market, which takes place twice a week

This is where I often drink cappuccino after my physiotherapy:

Outside the butcher's:

Eggs and dairy products:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
