The lion and the unicorn

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend, and I am so enjoying it!
The weather is cold but sunny, and no wind, just perfect.
I  went for a walk, which is a lot pleasanter than boot camp exercises.
I was able to go along the Rhine again, watch the boats, visit the Basilica
and do some shopping. The lady at the cash desk helped me pack my stuff into my little rucksack and heave it onto my back so I could get home safely with it.
I was so happy to be out again. My walk took twice as long as usual, but the main thing is that I was able to get out and about again
without help. My knee is still hurting and swollen, but bearable, and sooner or later it will surely be better.

For Art Journal Journey, if you go down to the woods,
I made a hybrid page using a poem I wrote for an anthology back in 2009,
a little dream about a society where all are friends with each other.

I also made a little book of it back then, this is the cover, I will show the rest next month at Elizabeth's Second on the Second.

Mrs Thrush was up early and waiting for her breakfast at sunrise:

The water in the Rhine was blue and sparkling:

A ship called Elisabeth:

And a ship with my initials:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Through the window of fantasy

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend, which means I have 2 Boot Camp free days,
wonderful!
The hard work there is showing results, I can walk  better from day to day, and that's the main thing. Rehab is now 8 days down and 7 to go - that's more than half way!!

For Art Journal Journey, if you go down to the woods, I  have another hybrid piece, made from various photos and some fantasy elements:

We had a wonderful sunrise again this morning, and sunny weather
nearly all day:

The photos here were taken 1 year ago today:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Red Hair and Red Riding Hood.

Hi Everybody!

For Paint Party Friday, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin, and for 99 faces, I have another Modigliani 'knock-off'. The original is called 'woman with red hair'.
I painted her on her chair with water colours and pastel chalks, and then fussy cut her and pasted her onto a dripped and sprayed A3 background.

For Art Journal Journey, if you go down to the woods, I have another hybrid piece, mixing painting, digital images, and photos. The illustration of Little Red Riding Hood and the Wolf are from an old book I have here, the birds are from my balcony.

As I didn't get out to take any new photos this week, I am showing some taken on this day last year. The Rehab/Boot Camp is going well, 7 days down and 8 to go - I'm getting there! One of my readers wondered yesterday how I manage to find so much time being creative when I am supposedly working hard at the Rehab....Well, I don't. I prepared all of the things I have been showing in the past weeks in advance, by working really hard.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Oooooops!

Hi Everybody!

As some of you may have noticed, yesterday was the start of a new challenge at

and I forgot to post my post about it - sorry!

The theme is 'Use newspaper'. As always, projects of all sorts are welcome, and you have 2 weeks to join us! I made a mixed media piece:

For Art Journal Journey, if you go down to the woods,
I have another hybrid piece. This time I made a few alterations to a beautiful painting from Ivan Shishkin, 1889. The bears are out and about again.

No photos today, I am just so tired I can't sit here any more - Boot Camp /Rehab was haaaaaaaaaaaaard!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Wednesday this and that

Hi Everybody!

Today was Day 5 of the Rehab /Boot Camp. Hard. hard, hard, but it is bringing results, and that is the main thing. 5 days down, 10 more to come!

For Art Journal Journey, if you go down to the woods, I have a hybrid piece made with 3 different photos layered together. The lovely text is from Robert Frost:

For 99 faces I have the second variation of Modigliani's Max Jacob. Here I placed the painted head onto a hybrid background, a combination of a grungy wall and a Hebrew text.

It was fun to watch the sun fight its way through the mist this morning:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by.
