Collage, sky and birds

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, collage and Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin, I made an A3 mixed media Collage. The background was painted with a mix of titan buff and gesso. I collaged various bits and pieces from my table onto the lower half of the page, and added a piece of embroidery thread, some stamping and some tissue tape. The handsome man dropped through my letterbox in an advert. I cut him out, used his reverse as a template and sprayed round him with dark brown, and then added his front side to the collage. I added some stenciling and used another stencil for the text.

We had beautiful weather today - cold but sunny. The day started with a beautiful pre-dawn sky:

The gulls were once again all gathered at the jetty, I love watching them:

The sun was glinting on the water:

As I saw this I was wondering if we had a shark in the Rhine, but as it came nearer I saw it was just drift wood:

Standing on one leg seems to be in fashion for big and small:

Have a good day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Thursday this and that

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, collage and for 99 faces, I made a face, drawn  very simply with black ink onto some printed cardstock. I kept the lines and  colours to a minimum, too, and collaged some diamond shaped scraps and the journaling, which is a quote from Marcus Tullius Cicero. I let some yellow and green water colours run down over the face.

I didn't get round to showing my Tag Tuesday tags from the last 2 weeks, so here they are:

Theme - found objects (the key brads)

Theme : bows

I am always fascinated by shadows and reflections:

More feathered visitors:

I think this one needs to go on diet!

After all the rain the Rhine is full again, and the heron and ducks were looking for food. The heron always seems to get very irritated with the ducks who don't respect his space:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

New Challenge at Moo Mania and More

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at Moo Mania and More
-favourite images or stamps-
As usual projects of all formats are welcome, and you have 2 weeks to get your creative juices flowing and join up with us - hope to see you there!

I have a hybrid piece, made from a painted background, some stamped and textured  images, my head drawing, and other photos taken here, all digitally combined to a collage.
I am also linking to Art Journal Journey, collage.

And I have a second hybrid collage with a face,  which I am also linking to Art Journal Journey and  99 faces

For Wen's 'simply neutrals' I made a collage using photos of lace and ice on puddles.

And last but not least, today is "2nd on the 2nd" at Elizabeth's.
I am showing a face made some time back for another challenge, remodeled into a hybrid collage:

And some photos of out little town taken on Sunday - today was too wet to to take photos of anything.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

New Challenge at Art Journal Journey

Hi Everybody!

December is here already, and that means it's time for a new challenge at

-collage-

You can choose your own theme and colour  scheme, but I do want to see some journaling on your pages. It can be handwritten, or stamped or collaged, or even added digitally;it can be short or long, but it should be there!
Collage is a great opportunity to get rid of all the scraps that have amassed in the course of the year, so let yourselves be inspired and link your wonderful creations at our blog.

For my DT piece I used a photo of a window overlooking London Bridge to which I digitally added my strange man and  woman, and lots of bubbles. This was printed out and collaged to an A3 page. I then added various TH stamps, which were printed onto card, fussy cut and collaged, as well as the scroll, the ticket and 2 Umbrella men in black and white. My journaling was partly written and partly made with stick on alphas. I had big fun first making the digital collage, and then collaging it again to make a 'real' one.

At TIOT we are entering the second week of our challenge for gift bags or boxes. These little envelopes have been cut with a Sizzix die, stamped, and tied with baker's twine. These are filled with little gifts and will be  presents for the postman etc. You still have a whole week to enter our challenge.

It's also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so a big welcome to all of the T Gang. At the Wednesday market by the Rhine we are tempted every week by this organic bakery. They sell the most delicious bread, rolls and cakes. Mostly I manage to resist the temptation, but last week it drew me in like a magnet and I found I was standing in front of the display, almost drooling. It would have been rude to just walk away, so I bought a slice of 'Berliner Brot', a dark and sticky cake with chocolate and hazelnuts, and very delicious.

Here you can see it in all its glory:

And I chopped it up into lots of slices, so help yourselves, enjoy!

My drink is, as always, cappuccino:

The Konditorei has decorated their window with giant gingerbread houses, all edible, of course - don't they look good?

The Optician's has a similar decoration, but I think it is not edible!

I will show my pieces for the other Tuesday challenges later in the week, the post today is already full enough!

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
