A Victorian letter

Hi Everybody!

Today I have another vintage piece for Art Journal Journey, post and postage.
The A3 background was painted again with a mix of gesso and DecoArt titan buff to match the colour of the antique letter, which is naturally just a copy. I added some background stenciling using vintage photo DI, and some washi tape. I added various stamps of pens, ink, post marks,  the typewriter etc, and a figure with a stamp head using a Penny Black stamp. The sentiment was handwritten - 'send love into the world - send someone a letter today'. This was another fun piece to make.

Today I walked along the shore:

This young thrush was sitting on the wall behind the Basilica, I love the 'scruffy' feathers.

The fire bugs seem to like to sit on a wall somewhere where it's warm:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

In the garden

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at Moo Mania and More,
 'In the garden'.

Projects of all formats are welcome, and you have 2 weeks to link your creations to us, so I hope to see lots of you there. I made a journal page using a background made with a serviette. When it was finished I scanned it and digitally altered it to make it into a stamp, so that it also fits the post-postage challenge at Art Journal Journey. I printed the same background again in Moo format, mounted it onto card, and fixed it to the journal page with some foam squares.

Even spider's webs look beautiful sprinkled with rain drops:

A large flock of wild geese were having a fishing party by the Rhine today:

We had lots of clouds, grey skies and rain again, but here and there a glimpse of blue!

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Orange, orange and blue

Hi Everybody!
Hope your week started off well. It was cool and rainy here, and I enjoyed walking in the rain and getting wet. After all the heat we had last week it was really pleasant to be back to normal, although the next heat wave is on its way.

At SOC the colours this week are orange, orange and blue. This is the last of the colour challenges for this summer. I have once again used an A3 page. I drew a paper doll-face, already stamped and ready to post, as  she is also meant for the post-postage challenge at Art Journal Journey. She was drawn with charcoal pencils (thanks Chrissie!) and coloured with pastel chalks. I found some postage stamps in my stash in fitting colours, and added some postal stamping. And the blue and orange butterfly!
I am also linking to Simon Monday challenge, anything goes and to
Kim Dellow's Friday show your face.

At Tag Tuesday our theme this week is splashes, drips and dribbles. I used a background which was painted, sprayed and dribbled. I went over some of the little splashes with DecoArt liquid glass, which I outlined with a dark blue fine liner. Looks a bit like apples on the trees! I added some embellishments to give it all a bit more volume.

I just got 2 photos taken today, it started raining so much that it was not possible any more.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Waiting for a letter

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, post-postage I have made  a mixed Media A3 page. I used one of my old documents for the background - not the original, just a scan, and collaged it onto a background painted with a mix of gesso and Titan buff paint to give it the same colour as the old document. I added some washi tape and a copy of an old letter, distressed with DI to match the vintage look. I stamped the ink bottle with quill, and collaged the girl sitting at her desk writing, and the little bird bringing her long awaited letter.
I am also linking to Simon Monday Challenge, anything goes.

Some photos from today:

I love the way the flowers grow on the top of the castle ruins:
