Blues and greens

Hi Everybody!

Today is the start of a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday and our theme is clocks/ watches. As always, the challenge will run for 2 weeks, and projects of all formats are allowed. Hope to see you there!
I am also linking to Summer of Colour, where the colours this week are blue, blue and green. Thanks to Kristin for hosting this fun event.

I used water colour paper in A4, and painted it diagonally with metallic paints in 2 shades of blue and green, On the clock is a nasty fly - as we all know, time flies! The wings and body of the fly have been sparkled with  diamond Stickles.

For art journal journey, masculine and feminine, I painted a tree woman, perhaps Mother Nature, once again using greens and blues. This is perhaps the female version of a 'green man'.  I am also linking to Moo Mania and More, anything goes.

And some greens and blues from my walk today:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Monday Mix

Hi Everybody!

The weekend has just disappeared - where did it go?
I didn't get much done, and I ate too much cake, but I had fun!

For Art Journal Journey, masculine and feminine, I have another journal page. I used an A3 sheet, with old book pages in the background, painted with Gesso, and stamped with a crackle stamp for more texture.. I used various stencils, home made and bought for the background and the boots. I used the same colour scheme as last Monday, I made a set of three in these colours, using fired brick and soot black DIs. The little vintage man is an image transfer with mod podge, which worked well this time. And the boots, of course, reminded me of Nancy Sinatra's song....

At the moment I am enjoying the lush green and wild flowers everywhere:

And as it's Monday, a funny from my friend Narda to start the week with a smile:

Presently, I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the

same principles.

Therefore every day, I go to the street and tell a passer-by what I have
eaten, how I feel, what I have done the night before and what I will do
after. I give them pictures of my wife, my daughter, my dog and me gardening
and spending time in my pool. I also listen to their conversations and tell
them I love them.

And it works: I already have 3 people following me: 2 police officers and a
psychiatrist.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Bad Hair Day

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey I tried to draw a face with a long neck like Modigliani.  The A3 background was painted with gesso, and I used charcoal pencils, pastel chalks and India ink. It didn't work out as I wanted to, and then I grabbed a pink pen, and then a blue one and started scribbling on it. I kept on scribbling till she had enough hair and I was feeling much less frustrated by that time. Then I gave her eyes to match her hair, and decided to leave it as it was. Not everything turns out as we plan, but I like it now!

I am also linking to Kim  Dellow's Friday Face art and Moo Mania and More, anything goes.

The birds are still visiting regularly:

This one has a piece of bread in its mouth. They really like white bread, bur rumple their beaks at wholegrain products!

This seems to be a ghost bird. It took off as I pressed the button, you can just see the feet and the movement!

The wild roses are really plentiful this year, and they are growing all along the Rhine, really pretty.

Looking towards the Rhine:

This old chair had evidently been thrown out:

And the flower shop is always worth a look:

A journal page and cakes

Hi Everybody!

Just a quick post this evening, been up too long, worked hard and I am really tired now.

For Art Journal Journey, masculine-feminine I made another journal page. This time I tried to see the 'problem' in a humourous way. I was inspired by  similar cartoons seen from time to time depicting the subject, and drew my figures and mapped out their brains to show their likes....
At first they were on a white background, which I didn't like, so I fussy cut them
and placed my couple on an A3 sheet painted again with black gesso - which I LOVE - and sprinkled with a little fairy dust.
I am also linking to Moo Mania and More, anything goes, to Mix it Monthly, the facial profile, and to Kim Dellow's
Friday faces, a nice place where you can link any faces you have made and see cool work made by others.

Today I baked 2 cakes to take to a birthday party  to which I was invited. The first one is a cheese cake with rhubarb and ginger

And here are the chocolate muffins - help yourselves! I took the photo when they were still steaming fresh from the oven, later on I pimped them with melted chocolate on top.

Here's wishing you all a sweet day. Take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!!
