Art Journal Journey and more....

Hi Everybody!

We had another warm and sunny day today, but the next few days will be
wet and windy again. Whatever, we have to take the weather as it comes!

I have made another journal page for Art Journal Journey, favourite poem or quote. The verse I have used is from Psalm 122 verse 6, 'Pray for the peace of Jerusalem; they shall prosper who love thee'
The background was made with brushos. I added more layers of colour with Gelatos when it was dry, blending with a baby wipe. I sketched in the walls and roofs of the houses to look like the houses in Jerusalem. I coloured the roofs with gold and bronze. I am also linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin, and to Mix it Monthly, town or village.

I enjoyed my walk along the Rhine and through our 'town' today; spring is a good time to be outside and enjoy nature.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Live as though....

Hi Everybody!

Another day has flown by, we had good weather, and it was good to go out without a coat or jacket!

For Art Journal Journey (favourite poem or quote) I used one of my ready made backgrounds to make this page. I now have quite a stock of painted and /or scanned backgrounds to use. This one has a torn tissue paper background painted over with acrylics. I added more colours with Gelatos and stenciling using the CWS chicken-wire stencil and Dina Wakley's birds, 'Live' has been stenciled using the waste from a Sizzix die-cut, and I wrote the rest of the quote
into the 'L'. The dragonfly has been quilled. I am also linking to Moo Mania and More, spring feelings.

I love watching the new leaves unfolding on the branches:

The trees down at the lake are greening up well, too.

These photos are the angels on my window ledge, throwing their shadows onto the white curtain early this morning:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

A bright head

Hi Everybody!

Just a quick post this evening, the day has run away from me again!

For Art Journal Journey, favourite poem or quote, I made another page using one of 'my' heads - I have heads in all sizes! I made a torn paper background, which I lightly gessoed so as not to completely conceal the underlying text. I used lots of Gelatos to let my head shine. The quote is from Katrina Mayer.

I bound another 10 journal pages using a thermal binder

We had a wonderful sunrise and warm and sunny day:

The crow who likes to sneak in and eat the fat balls tried to hide in the tree again when he saw me!

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Double Tuesday again

Hi Everybody!

Another day has flown by, and I don't know where the time went....

Today is another double Tuesday. At Try it on Tuesday we have a new challenge, 'New beginnings'. The challenge runs for 2 weeks, and projects of all formats are allowed, so hope you will link your creations to us. I made an A3 journal page about the creation, going back to the very beginning, and the verse is the first verse in Genesis, 'In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth....' I used gesso for the background, and painted over it with acrylic and metallic paints in various shades of blue and purple and gold. I drew the planets and stars and coloured them with uniball pens in gold, silver, white and red metallic. I used the same pens for the Hebrew and English texts.
I am also linking to Art Journal Journey, favourite poem or quote, and Simon Monday Challenge, in the middle - order was created in the middle of chaos.

At Tag Tuesday our theme is 'insects', not my fave subject. But I do like decorative ones, like butterflies. The image is from Gecko Galz. I distressed the edges with wild honey DI, and matted it with 2 complementary shades of card. The large butterfly has been printed onto acetate and fussy cut. I added some textile flowers and ribbons as embellishments.

Today started off well, but the sun and clouds battled for quite some time. I was still able to enjoy my walk even though it was not as warm as last week.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
