Sun, moon and birds

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
We had a wonderful, sunny day after a cold and frosty night.
I enjoyed my walks, it was good not to freeze!
I have also been busy at home these past few days sorting, tidying, trying to bring order into my chaos, not easy for me, but necessary.

For my journal page for Art Journal Journey, things with wings, I used a photo from 2002 as background, taken in Capernaum by the Sea of Galilee  when the late afternoon sun was covered in clouds. I love this sort of atmospheric sky. I printed it out in A4 and used Dina Wakley's bird stencil for the birds. This time I used white highlighter and VivaColor Moonstone glitter. The quote is from Hamlet.

The day started well with a beautiful sunrise over frosty fields:

The weather was mils and sunny:

And the moon this evening had a golden halo, and was very spooky!

Have a good day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

More Blackbirds

Hi Everybody!
Just a short post today, it's late and I need to sleep, been working hard again!

For Art Journal Journey,  things with wings, I have made a journal page with a crow. The crow is an engraving in one of my old books, which I scanned, and then printed onto one of my backgrounds. I added more colour to the background with Gelatos, and coloured the bird and the trees with water colours. I added patterning with various stencils (home made and CWS) and the birds are from Dina Wakley. The quote is from William Blake. I am also linking to Simon Monday Challenge, a hint of clover. and Moo Mania and More, black birds.

Just 2 photos today, the moon is shining down on me this evening:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Things with wings

Hi Everybody!

The week has flown by, it's Friday already!

For Art Journal Journey, Things with wings, I have a large painting to share, although I am not really sure if it is finished. I am trying to decide if I should leave it as it is, or add some more to the background....Yesterday I wanted to add more, today I want to leave it as it is, let's see how things continue....It is very large, about 90x70 cms. I discovered some large sheets of paper while clearing up this week and decided to use one of them. The quote is from Luciano de Crescenzo, 'We are each of us angels with just one wing, and we can only fly by embracing one another' I just wrote the first part on the painting. I used some tubes of water colour over gesso to paint with.
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted as always by Eva and Kristin, and to Mix it Monthly, angels and saints.

This picture is one made in 1991, on an A2 sheet, using prismalo water colour pencils. I found it today while cleaning out my 'Bottomless pit' AKA hall closet. My preoccupation with ducks and birds is evidently not new!

Just a few photos today, I have spent most of the day clearing out and sorting stash, books etc.

Have agreat day you all, take care, and thanks a lot for coming by

Leonardo. flight and dragonflies

Hi Everybody!

Another day has sped by, where does the time go?

Today I have another journal page to share for Art Journal Journey. The background is  a Leonardo da Vinci drawing from an old calendar page, lightly gessoed and colour-washed. I painted the flowers with water colours, and then stamped and embossed the dragonflies onto it.  Then I painted the dragonflies with twinkling H2Os and added some fairy dust for good measure. The quote from Da Vinci is one of my faves.
I am also linking to Simon Monday challenge, a touch of clover, Fashionable Stamping Challenges, colour between the lines, and Artist Trading Post, spring (mixed media)

I was woken early this morning by hailstones rattling against my window. The clouds and the sun  battled each other all day, but we did have another wonderful sunrise:

Here a plane has just taken off from the airport

I met the usual crowd down at the Rhine

And this little thrush was hopping about in the spring flowers:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
