Back to the middle ages, part one

Hi Everybody!

Last Sunday my buddy G took me on a trip to see Burg (castle) Linn, a beautiful building from the middle ages in the middle of a landscaped park. We had wonderful spring weather, the flowers were blooming, and the scent of the blooms was intoxicating. I took a lot of photos, so here is the first installment:

The castle would be a fitting setting for a fairy tale film:

We also enjoyed watching the bountiful wildlife there:

I'll be back with part 2 on Friday!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T stands for sTeampunk

Hi Everybody!

The past few days here have been warm, sunny and almost like summer, which feels so good after the long, hard winter.
On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our lovely Sandie is hosting. Her theme is 'steampunk / mechanical', so this will be a treat for all steampunk fans. Pop over to Tag Tuesday and see her lovely creations!
I made a digital tag using elements from Serif, especially the 'steampunk homage' set by Gill

Last week We visted the harbour in Neuss, and some of the cranes and gadgets there fit well to the steampunk theme:

The 'clock' that shows the depth of the water:

Looking from the harbour to the Minster:

And what we didn't expect to see swimming in the harbour - a big, fat turtle. G saw it first, and I just couldn't believe it when he said, 'There's a turtle swimming there!' But he was, as usual, right:

Later on we met up with another buddy and went for a walk through Neuss, and just happened to find our way to Cafe Roma. As it is Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday I would like to invite all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang to join me.

This was G's choice:

C chose this:

And I chose a tutti frutti - delicious!

And then I had to take a cappuccino to have a beverage to show here:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by

The magic of spring, part 2

Hi Everybody!

It's nearly weekend, have a good one!
To make this piece, I re-purposed an old A3 journal page and gave it some new additions to 'bring it into spring'. I am linking to Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin, and  The Dreaming Palette, Earth day Tribute

Last weekend  I visited Neuss, a neighbouring town, together with 2 buddies, G & C. First we toured the harbour, but I will show those pictures in my next post:

We visited a nature-protection island, the 'Ölgangsinsel', a paradise for nature and quiet loving people and wild life. The golden oriole can be found there, and a whole colony of cranes regularly nests there. The fresh green of the new leaves was wonderful:

We could see the TV tower of Düsseldorf across the Rhine:

Later as we went through Neuss we saw this wonderful avenue of cherry trees leading up to the church:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
