More witches seen by Gina!

Thanks Gina for another lovely photo, which has been somewhat altered in Photoshop.It has beeen great fun making the halloween LOs, perhaps a return to the pleasures of childhood, where it was so nice to be scared of something that one knew were not really real....

Gina, AKA Mrs TSV, met these witches while on holiday in Cornwall. She sent me some pics via her magic wand, and here they are - enjoy, and thanks a lot, Gina!

52 Questions and Answers - 3rd try!

Some things are sent to try us, especially when cyber gremlins eat up the block of text that one has just typed. Today they seem to be extra hungry, they've gobbled up the first two attempts, so this will be the last try! The inspiration for this challenge came from Ember (embers.typepad.com/e/) who started this at the beginning of the year. A group of scrappers on DC took up the challenge and are answering the questions more or less regularly, sometimes with some energetic catching up (like the 9 tags I did this past few days!) Although the format is quite small, it takes just as long to make as a 12x12 LO, which always astonishes me. I have tried to use up some of the myriad scraps of paper, card, ribbons, buttons etc which fill numerous tins here, and probably in every scrapper's home. It is also a good opportunity to try out different techniques and methods. I have not tried to make a set of tags which fit together, I just did every one as the mood took me. The last tags have a lot of alphas on them, after clearing out my cupboard I realised just how many I had, so decided to use some of them at least. Strangely enough, the box in the cupboard is just as full as it was before, must have been the fairies again!
This has been fun to make, hope you enjoy looking!

October Challenge LO No.3

I enjoyed this theme so much that I have made another one. Used a pale yellow paper from WRMK precious metals range, and inked the edges with adirondack *lettuce" and *aged mahogony* distress ink from Ranger. Used a photo of autumn leaves, and die-cuts (Sizzix decorative strip) cut from black coredinations paper, and a swallow cut from the same paper. Wanted to convey the feeling of the dying flowers and the birds flying away. Used an excerpt from *Autumn* by Thomas Hardy. I have hidden 3 little witches in the black leaves and flowers, can you find them? Was fun to make.

Autumn Challenge LO

We had to make a LO with autumn colours, with either autumn or halloween as theme, and it had to be a bit scary. I chose "A Dirge to Autumn" from Percy Byssche Shelley, and Autumn colours, coordinates paper in orange/black, die-cut leaves distressed with adirondack *lettuce*, textile leaves and metallic pumpkins. The *tombstone* has been cut out and the tree drawn by hand, the owls stamped and embossed directly onto the LO, with added gemstone eyes. This is the text of the poem in case anyone is interested ;
The warm sun is falling, the bleak wind is wailing,
The bare boughs are sighing, the pale flowers are dying,
And the Year
On the earth is her death-bed, in a shroud of leaves dead,
Is lying.Come, Months, come away,From November to May,
In your saddest array;Follow the bier Of the dead cold Year,
And like dim shadows watch by her sepulchre.
The chill rain is falling, the nipped worm is crawling,
The rivers are swelling, the thunder is knelling For the Year;
The blithe swallows are flown, and the lizards each gone
To his dwelling. Come, Months, come away;
Put on white, black and gray;Let your light sisters play--
Ye, follow the bier Of the dead cold Year,
And make her grave green with tear on tear.

The colours have not photographed well, the background is more orange in real life!

Halloween Album 2 -*By the pricking of my thumbs*

Made another album, as I was not really satisfied with the first one. I like this one better, and had a good time sorting all the pictures, quotations and spooky bits and pieces to make it.
