New Challenge at AJJ - Poetry Double

Hi Everybody!

Welcome to May. With the new month, it's time for a new challenge. This month at Art Journal Journey  we have something a little different for you. We have one new theme, but instead of one host, we have two. This month Valerie from Bastelmania- that's me - is one of our hosts, and our second host is Erika from BioArtGal

I am really excited and  much looking forward to hosting this month's challenge together with Erika. We live in different countries, far apart, but can work together, and that's great! We thought it would be fun to host and post together, and our theme this month is

POEMS/ POETRY

Don't be scared by the theme of poems. It doesn't have to be anything special or super complicated. You can choose a poem or short verse  or limerick or whatever poems you like. You can compose your own or choose works from famous people, the main thing is to have fun. Make your poem part of a journal page, and that's the way to go! My first piece is very simple, a little poem about bees, as a tribute to Erika who cares for her bees:

And a life without bees would have serious complications for all mankind.
You can read more about it here  and in many more articles on the net etc.

All photos are by me:

I am looking forward to seeing your poetical blog pages, whatever the theme!

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

More from Pythagoras....

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing us all a good, new week . The weekend flew by, but I did get a few things done, when not exactly much! And I'm happy to say that Heike was well enough for us to go to our favourite place, Pizzeria Roma, and yes - it was good!

Today I have a new piece for my geometric shapes challenge at AJJ, once again with a quote from Pythagoras;

And another Pythagoras joke:

Why was Pythagoras not considered a suspect in murder case?
He knew what his angle was.

And a photo of Heike taken at our fave place today:

And some funnies, thinkies and some pics from David Zinn:

I won't be able to join in Elizabeth's TsfT today, I have too much to do:

Have a great week, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

Another week has raced by and now it's weekend. I have no appointments so I can do what I want , and that's the way I like it!

I have another piece for my challenge at AJJ. The background was made with my gelli plate, and the rest is just a mix of blue objects and one of my heads. For those who don't know, I have a lot of heads, all made from paper....

I am linking to my geometric shapes challenge at AJJ.

Some photos from the Rhine and from my balcony:

These photos have not been coloured, we just had a strange light on that evening:

Part of a painting I am working on. What is it? Your guess is as good as mine!

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

Pythagoras

 Hi Everybody!

I think those who don't like geometry will shudder at today's post, which features Pythagoras. He was a mathematician and philosopher in ancient Greece. Many students still have to learn his famous theorem, whether they want to or not....Here it is:

And a pythagoras joke:

I met one of my beautiful Maths teachers yesterday

We greeted and she asked me directions to the State Bank of India. I told her make a 299 degrees turn and walk for 290 meters, then subtend the angle of X using Pythagoras Theorem and round it up to the nearest degree using tan ∆. From that point, draw a parabolic curve and walk 342 meters on its major axis and bisect the straight road at an obtuse angle. That's where the bank is.

Let her feel what I felt when I was in school.

I used to like geometry  and algebra etc at school, but these days I use the calculator in my phone....

This isn't me, but I love what she's saying:

I just had to go for a cappuccino this morning after my appontment at the doc's, I NEEDED it:

At the Rhine it was cold, grey and wet:

And I have some more pics from David Zinn:

There are lots of faces, so I will be linking to Nicole's FFO and Gillena's AFFF on Friday.

Have a great day, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!
