Midweek post

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well. I had a busy day today - an appointment by the oral surgeon for the preliminary examination, and on Thursday next week he will be digging the rest of the broken tooth out of my jaw. First of all I have to visit my doctor, as she has to say if it's okay to leave off the blood thinners for 2 days. I hope she will agree, and then it will be done and dusted! After this I went shopping with my neighbour at Aldi and got my groceries for the week - once again things are getting more expensive each time. After I had had a break for lunch I went to Heike and we drank coffee and had a good natter. Now I'm back home and writing my blog!

Today I am sharing 2 sketches made many years ago, in 1992. I copied them with pastels onto used dictionary pages. Here I added some flower stick-ons. The craft paper in the background stuck itself to the back of the page, so I left it there, it evidently wanted to be recycled, too:

On this one I added some diamond patterning with a stencil:

I am linking to Elizabeth's recycling challenge at AJJ.

And I have a tag for Pinky's anything goes challenge at Tag Tuesday:

And some funnies / thinkies:

And a few photos:

We visited the wild animal park - love the baby boars:

The Mufflon is my entry for Rain's theme of 'twisted' on Thursday:

This is one of my fave photos:

I think it can't get any greener, just love the fresh green in spring:

T sTands for This and That again

Hi Everybody!

We're starting the last week of April already, time flies!  Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. I had a lazy day on Saturday, met up with Heike for coffee and cake, and went out for a meal with Heike on Sunday. In between I read, painted and enjoyed doing my fave things.

For Elizabeth's recycling challenge at AJJ I have a new entry. This was a piece which was flying around in my 'not finished' box. Quite a few years back I made a
Frida Kahlo album  using lots of scraps of Mexican cotton which I sewed together. This was the finished album:

This is the page I found after I had finished it. I sewed the fabric to a piece of rescued cardstock using zigzag stitch before my machine collapsed from exhaustion. So I glued the ribbon and lace on. The ribbon was from a present, the lace probably a leftover from an older project:

And I still have a huge amount of these colourful scraps....
This evening we will be celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang.
On Saturday we went to Café Schuster and enjoyed delicious cake and capuccino. I only thought about taking photos after we had eaten and drunk everything, but we are so good hearted that we ordered more cappuccino so that you wouldn't be too disapointed....

And today I remembered to take a photo of our non-alcoholic beer:

Cheers!

Some spring flowers:

And I went for a coffee a couple of times in between:

And some thinkies / funnies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Happy bEARTHday, Elizabeth!

Hi Everybody!

In my post today I want to wish dear Elizabeth, the queen of recycling, re-using and repurposing, a very happy bEARTHday!
I am sharing a collage made a couple of years back, which I have repurposed. I added more collage pieces, changed her hair colour and gave her curls, and added a quote from Mary Oliver, 'I simply do not distinguish between work and play'.
Have a great day Elizabeth, I hope Bleubeard and Squiggles will meow and yowl for you to make your birthday unforcatable:

Today I have 2 photos taken this morning when I woke up. There was sunshine outside and lots of sparkly raindrops on the window:

The 2nd pic is very special, as you can see my reflection on the righthand side, standing in my pink and white nightdress and taking the photo - oooops!

And of course, I am linking to Elizabeth's challenge at AJJ

Have a great weekend, take care,
And thanks a lot for coming by!

TGIF

Hi Everybody!

Another week is almost over, it's Friday and soon it's weekend. I don't need to go to work anymore, but Fridays and weekends are still something special to look forward to. I still set my alarm for 7 a.m. each morning so I don't waste my time, but on Saturday and Sunday there's no alarm, and I can stay in bed for an extra hour  or so, read a book, drink coffee and enjoy the view out of my window.

Today I am sharing a new acrylic painting. It's very large (A2) and I had fun painting this lady. I am linking to Nicole's FFO, and Gillena's Friday art fun. And as I have used some recycled bits and bobs, I am linking to Elizabeth's recycle and re-use challenge at AJJ. I recycled the gold discs which were part of our New Year's Eve table decorations at the clinic, the butterfly, which was on a birthday card and the washi tape which was also on the same card;

Some photos from my walk through the park this morning:

Beautiful mornings!

Some thinkies/ funnies:

Have a wonderful Friday, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
