Tuesday-Wednesday Post

 Hi Everybody!

Especially at holiday time I miss my home town London.  Although I have lived in Germany for more years than I did in London, I still feel like a Londoner, and am hoping when Corona gets better that I can visit there again, and look around the places where we lived, and where I spent my childhood. So I made a journal page for my doors challenge at AJJ. I was born just a few hundred metres from The Tower and Tower  Bridge, and this was one of our playgrounds. Back then the bridge was dark with smoke and now it is clean and white. There are lots of doors here, in the pub and the houses, and of course in the towers of the bridge, and we mustn't forget the taxi and the red telephone box :

I got some  money for my birthday and bought myself a wonderful set of new paints and 2 huge blocks of good quality paper. There are 24 large bottles of paint in the set, and it is such a lovely quality. Now I can't stop painting. Who needs housework!

And some funnies:

My kind of alarm clock!

Enjoy the remaining few days of the year, and  to those who I wont be 'seeing' again in this year, a great new year.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T Stands for a new challenge at Tag Tuesday

 Hi Everybody!

I hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend! This evening we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our lovely Michele is hosting. She has chosen  Time and clocks as her theme, and I hope to see lots of people joining in. The challenge goes live this evening at 9 p.m. As always tags of all formats are welcome, and you have 2 weeks to link to us. Here is my tag:

And for my 'doors' challenge at AJJ I have another journal page. This is especially for my friend David:

This evening we will also be celebrating Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so here a warm welcome to all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang who visit here.

Today I'm offering you a choice of cherry and almond pie:

Or perhaps a waffle with stewed apples and cream.

And my drink is cappuccino, but I have various tea sorts in the kitchen for those who prefer tea:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Christmas Post

Hi Everybody!

Here's wishing everybody a happy and peaceful Christmas. This year has been hard for everyone because of Covid, so I hope you are able to get together with friends and family and stay safe. I am planning a quiet weekend with lots of time for painting, reading and feet-up TV watching.

I made another journal page for my doors challenge at AJJ. I used a photo of a building in London. The door was already beautifully decorated for Christmas, so I just needed to add my Christmas man, a freebie from Pexels - men for nothing, wow!

And for those who like it more traditional, a vintage postcard from the Graphics Fairy:

And some funnies/thinkies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Doors will be opened / Thursday - Friday post

Hi Everybody!

I took a day off yesterday, I was just exhausted, so I had a fun day painting, watching TV, reading and eating the rest of the apple crumble I made for my birthday.

Today I have a hybrid piece for my doors challenge at AJJ:

And for Paint Party Friday I'm sharing the piece I made recently when I was frustrated and bad tempered:

And some funnies/thinkies:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

A special day

Hi Everybody!

Today its a very special day, the winter solstice. It's the shortest day of the year, but from tomorrow the days will gradually get longer.

The light of the Sun begins a new solar cycle at Winter Solstice. Many people celebrate this day. In winter everything lies dormant in the silent earth, it is a sacred time of rest and reflection before the awakening and the slow build toward brighter days. The energy of winter is that of going within.

Last week I joined with Melanie Rivers and a few hundred others for a Solstice paint along session. Melanie's picture was superb, it really glowed, you can see it on her FB page or watch the repeat of the live event. I am never really happy with what I paint, but I know we have to learn not to compare ourselves with others. You can see that the light comes from the left side and the right side is still in the shadow:

And I made a Solstice portal for my doors challenge at AJJ. The painting behind the arch shows Stonehenge and the return of the light, which I painted a few years back:

This is specially for those who have birthdays near Christmas:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
