Weekend Post

Hi Everybody!

It's weekend, enjoy!
I'm planning on having a restful weekend, I need it!

Today I am sharing 2 art journaling pieces made during the LB taster lessons.

The first one is the 'Inside your head' journal spread inspired by Dyan Reavely, which I very much enjoyed. I used autumn colours, a picture from Dyan, lots of scraps and stenciled patterns and stamped the eyes. This was really fun!

I am also linking to Tracey's lovely challenge at AJJ

The second piece is a journal page inspired by a lesson from Shemi Dixon, the textures  of me:
Once again, I used autumn colours, over a background which was stenciled with texture paste, with additions of corrugated card and scraps of cloth and netting. I added buttons, too, to give more texture. This was such fun to make, a real art-play session!

And some pictures of a beautiful sunrise, once again from Google reversed:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Thursday Friday Post

Hi Everybody!

I had a great day today, and visited  friends in a neighbouring town.  I travelled by tram and bus, and enjoyed it. And the made delicious scones especially for me, some with strawberry jam and some with cheddar cheese, yummy!

The piece I am sharing today was inspired by the fun mark-making lesson from Holly McLaughlin. I really enjoyed creating various layers of marks on a pre-painted background, then I added a layer of collage and lastly my quirky girl:

This piece was made inspired by the lesson from Leaca Young, where we made little packages of various papers and topped it with painted leaves and flowers with positive intentions. The pocket was made from designer paper and sewed together. I have made a heap of these pieces, they make great collage fodder!

I am linking to Paint Party Friday .

Midweek Post

Hi Everybody!

It's the middle of the week already - where does the time go? Today I got my flue shot and my arm is aching and sore, but I suppose it will go over in a few days, and always better than catching a virus flu!

Last week I tried the LB taster lesson from Ildiko  Karsay, a very talented lady. And her painting of sunflowers looked so easy. Help! It wasn't easy. I kept trying to add some colour here or take it away there and the results were not inspiring. I painted 3 versions. I'm showing the third and best one first so you don't all run away:

Sorry, the photo is not really sharp, I should use the tripod as my hands often shake. Anyway, this was the 2nd one:

This was the first one, which I didn't like at all:

I am linking my sunflowers, good and bad to Tracey's October colours challenge at AJJ.

Melanie Rivers suggested making  a little focal point with items from nature, and for another course which is starting today we were also encouraged to decorate the art table, so this is my tray made with bits and pieces collected on my walk. I found stones, flowers, leaves, seed-pods, berries and more, and added a candle to it:

On my way home from the flu shot this morning:
