Weekend post

 Hi Everybody!

It's weekend - enjoy! Here it's cold and crisp but with sunshine today, so definitely weather I like - just right for walking.

Today I have another piece to share inspired by Andrea Gomoll's lesson in the Lifebook taster sessions. Andrea made the elf into a wand, but I decided to make it into an autumn wreath, as I discovered lots of die-cut and painted leaves and flowers tucked away in a box, and wanted to use them. The wreath is made from Styrofoam, painted and glittered. I cut out the elf and put her is the middle:

Then I started to think about how I could change it into a journal page for Tracey's challenge at AJJ. So I magicked the photo into my graphics programme and digitally cut it out. Then I added a window frame with blue skies outside and put a virtual nail into the virtual frame to hang up my virtual wreath - done!

And I have a last tag for Sandie's bookpaper challenge at Tag Tuesday, this time a Christmas one - Christmas is coming nearer!

For Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd I am sharing some autumn pages from past years:

We have had changeable weather again - storm, wind, rain, hail and sunshine:

New Challenge at Art Journal Journey.

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at AJJ and this time the lovely and very talented Tracey is hosting and her theme is

'my favourite colour is October'

The challenge runs for a month, and digital art is also welcomed. We are looking forward to seeing your journal pages and paintings, but please, no cards or tags!

I love the colours and feeling of autumn, so this is a wonderful theme for me. I made an A3 piece. The background was painted and textured with a patterned brayer. The falling leaves were cut from scraps of painted paper. The large leaves in the 'nest' were made from paper which was painted and then sprinkled with Utee gold and white. The bird was also worked on a piece of painted and glittered paper and then glued onto the page. Then I added some of my found feathers to the nest:

I am also linking to Country View challenges, autumnal colours or Halloween and to
 Paint Party Friday

Some autumn photos from previous years:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
