New challenge at More Mixed Media

Hi Everybody!

Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Today we are starting a new challenge at More Mixed Media Challenge Blog. Our themes are always anything mixed media goes, this time with the optional twist of using pastels. As always, you have 4 weeks to join us, and Lozzy always offers prizes and badges, so hop over and see what's going on!
I made a tag, also meant for my 'add a sentiment' challenge at Tag Tuesday
I used some designer paper with bird print for the background, just adding the sentiment and some die-cut feathers and stars. It was mounted onto some kraft paper, stitched. and then all tied up with some baker's twine

My second piece is an A3 journal page meant for Erika's challenge at AJJ, 'when it's hot'. Cool colours are then my faves as I am not a big hot-and-sunny fan. I painted the background with a mix of blue and green over gesso, and then splattered some colour on top of it. I saw an article in our local newspaper,  the Westdeutsche Zeitung about summer trends, so cut out the picture of the girl and the trends - huge sunglasses, golden milk ice cream and bandanas as Corona protection. And if you want to be really  'in'  you need to wear a belt bag strapped round your body....I'll stick to my satchel! I drew the ice-cream cone, fussy cut the glasses and found some other 'odds and sods', as we say in my homeland, for embellishments. Some crazy stitching finished it off nicely:

Saturday Post

Hi Everybody!

I would like to wish everyone a great weekend, and all friends and family in the United States a happy and safe July 4th.

Here we had rain on Wednesday / Thursday. We still need more, but at least it was something:

In the evening I stood outside and watched the clouds scudding across the sky:

And in the other direction the moon rose up through the clouds:

The clouds have been piling up again today:

Nature is the best artist!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Paint Party Friday

Hi Everybody!

It's Friday already. Today I have another tag for Tag Tuesday to share, where my theme is 'add a sentiment'. All tags of all formats are welcome, any theme is possible, it must just have a word or two on it, so hope to see more people joining in. My tag was made from the same masterboard as the first one. This time I added some scribble flowers which were hand painted and fussy cut. The sentiment was die-cut from some card painted with alcohol-ink and a TH lost relative. The edges were stitched:

I have another journal page for Erika's theme at AJJ. As I am not a fan of hot weather, I made a piece with cool colours to cool me down when it's hot.
I placed  paper napkin on a painted A3 background. I added lots of spots and some doodled patterns to match those on the napkin, as well as some glitter dots and stars I found in my stash.

Yesterday we got some much needed rain, and I went for an enjoyable walk through the rain:

Have a wonderful day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
