T sTands for This and That and a Tag for Tag Tuesday

Hi Everybody!

Today I woke up to a foggy morning. I wondered why it was so quiet, and then realised I couldn't hear any planes from the nearby airport. When I looked out of the window I realised why - fog. It has got much colder here, and that often results in fog and mist. But I love to see it.:

Today I am sharing a new tag for Michele's 'winter scenes' challenge at
Tag Tuesday, made with elements from me and Serif. You still have a week to join us and it would be wonderful to see some more people joining in:

Today is also time for Elizabeth's T sTands for Tuesday link party, so here a warm welcome to all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang who visit. Yesterday I drank my coffee at Cafe Burghof, next to the castle ruins:

There are strange decorations everywhere:

And a wonderful view of the Rhine:

The yard outside is also full of old and rusty cars, I have shared pics of them before:

I liked these painted doors leading to a yard behind a row of houses, I think I will enjoy having a coffee there in summer:

Cappuccino with heart:

And at the bakery:

Christmas tableware has been reduced:

But still rather too expensive for me:

We had mild temperatures last week, up to 15°C, and so I enjoyed my walks:

And I bought myself a bunch of daffodils for 99 cents to bring spring into my home:

And the fog hasn't moved away yet, but at least it's now light:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend post

Hi Everybody!

It's been a wet and windy day here, but we had a wonderful day yesterday, with loads of sunshine so I'm not complaining, at least not too loudly....
Yesterday I went to art group again after a break of a few weeks and was able to do a bit of crafting. I used a Roy Lichtenstein image from an old calendar (from the 1970s). I hacked it into pieces with the big paper-cutter and then had fun re-arranging them. I haven't finished the piece yet, it is rather large - 17" x 24" - and will work on it again another time. But I magicked the pieces into my graphic programme and then played around with them on a red background. The sentiment is something important for me just now. I am linking to Jo's 'something new' challenge at Art Journal Journey, and to Paint Party Friday:

This is as far as I have got with the original - the pieces were glued on haphazardly and outlined with a wide. yellow calligraphy marker. I am looking forward to seeing what I will do next, at the moment I don't know:

Wednesday started off with a wonderful dawn and sunrise:

I walked long the Rhine into Düsseldorf, and took a quick detour into Nord Park and had a rest in the Japanese Garden, a beautiful and peaceful place in all seasons:

This is a restaurant at the Rhine, and I didn't go in for coffee!

The Relief on the wall shows how boats were rowed and towed along in the old days:

January flowers:

It's early even for the snow-drops:

Strange fungi:

This coil leads up to the bridge which I often walk over . this time I went under it:

Daisies everywhere:

Dark clouds but no rain:

And hundreds and hundreds of Canadian wild geese everywhere:

These Canadian visitors seem to love the Rhine:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
