New Challenge at More Mixed Media

Hi Everybody!

Today we are starting a new challenge at More Mixed Media Challenge Blog. Our challenges are always anything mixed media goes, this time with optional purple. You have 4 weeks to join us with your creations, so hope to see you there. I have once again used my home-made giant face stamp, as I stamped a whole pile a couple of years back and am using them now one by one and filling them with colour. The face was stamped onto an A3 white page. I then added the coloured auras using Gelatos, felt tips and brush-pens. I did some sewing and added some patterns. The word 'vision' was stamped  (LaBlanche). The sentiment was hand-written and I added a feather as embellishment:

I have more photos from our visit to the castle to share:

We much enjoyed walking though the magnificent park surrounding the castle:

Does anyone know what this plant is?

Loved this twisty cypress tree:

T stands for a peacock on a Table

Hi Everybody!

This weekend went by too quickly. We had good weather, hot and sunny, and I was out most of the time. In the night the promised thunder-storms started, so it's warm, wet, dark and windy today.

Today we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday. This time I am hosting and my theme is beverages.  Any sort of drink, cup, glass, tea-pot, coffee-pot, kettle etc would make a good tag.  Think milk shakes, summer cocktails, whatever you like drinking. Tags of all formats are welcome, and as always, you have 2 weeks to join us.

I started off with a coffee tag - what else? This is definitely my fave beverage. I made a stamped and collaged card. The background was repeatedly stamped with the words 'Is there really a life before coffee' using Espresso ink from Ranger on a sprayed card. I matted the tag with brown and blue and rounded the edges. The bird was printed onto canvas and cut from a Gecko Galz image. The little tea-cups were made using a freebie stamp which was painted and fussy cut. The milk-foam was made with puff paint. The little blue cup is a button.
Hope to see lots of you joining in:

I chose this theme as it fits well to Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday. Last Wednesday we revisited the medieval moated castle of which I showed some pics a couple of weeks back.

This time we went into the inner courtyard where there is a cafe/restaurant with a great selection of drinks and food. My coffee was served on a little wooden tray with a morsel of chocolate cake, Harry drank water:

Going through the old gate-house to the courtyard:

And inside we discovered this beautiful peacock who delighted everybody with his posing:

This figure was sitting alone on a bench, so we kept him company:

A pleasant place to sit:

Posing on the table:

We also spent a lot of time looking round the park, walking in the woods and exploring the neighbourhood, but I will save those pics for another time.

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
