Autumn and Halloween

Hi Everybody!

On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and I am hosting. My theme is autumn / Halloween, so very seasonal, and I hope this will inspire some people to join in. I have 2 tags to start off. The first one was made using a piece of vintage linen, which I fringed, an image from Gecko Galz and some gold corrugated card, all of which I sewed together. I added the TH paper doll and sat her in the tree. The embellishments are natural bits and bobs gathered from the tree in front of our house, a TH sentiment and some fancy ribbons:

The second tag is a square one, cut from some DP I had in my stash. I sewed an acetate overlay onto it. Once again I decorated with nature materials and scraps of netting and hessian, all tied together with straw. The little boy has wings made from seed pods and is sitting on 2 leaves cut from hand-painted paper I used the same ribbon as for the first tag:

Tuesday is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so here a warm welcome to all of the ladies of the T Gang. I visited my friend N, and we enjoyed coffee and raspberry cake:

Today I am sharing more photos from last week's trip to South Park:

These dark red flowers are called cocoa plants - and they really do smell like chocolate!

Have a great day, Take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

A visit to the park

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well, mine is flying by very quickly.
For Paint Party Friday I made another A3 face, with various layers of colour painted, stenciled,  sprayed and dripped over the page. I glued some scraps of a Jane Davenport napkin top and bottom and coordinated the colours to match. A couple of scraps of washi tapes were used as trim. Three stencils were used for the background patterns and birds. I am linking to Paint Party Friday.

Last weekend we visited Südpark (South Park) and the farm which belongs to it. I think I told you before that the huge park, farm, organic shop and restaurant are worked by a special project which gives jobs to many mentally handicapped people, who do first-class work there. First of all we visited my faves, Doris and Heike, who were taking their midday nap:

The goats are always fun to watch:

The rabbits were also asleep in the sun....

While the sparrows were enjoying their food:

The cottage garden is beautiful:

The park is beautifully landscaped with lots of wonderful lakes:

More photos to follow another time!
Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T stands for a blasT from the pasT

Hi Everybody!

Have a great week! The week started off bright and sunny here with a wonderful sunrise - always a good start to each and every day. At Tag Tuesday we are still following Wilma's wonderful 'peace' theme to remember the terrible events of 9.11.2001. I'm sad that so few people have joined in up till now, but the challenge is running for another week, so you still have time. My tag has been made using a photo of a winter sunrise as seen from my balcony. The words are from a Beatles' song, and the blackbird is one that often visits my balcony-garden:

Today is also Elizabeth's  T stands for Tuesday, so here a warm welcome to all of the nice ladies of the T Gang.

On Saturday G and I visited a large park at the other end of town - I will show pics of what we saw there another time - and of course, we started with a drink. I had cappuccino:

G had a Latte, and drew a palm-tree in the foam:

Two weeks back when we were in Abtsküche, we were able to visit the Heimat (Home) Museum  - stocked with items used by the people of the village in past days:

There were lots of items pertaining to food, drink and kitchens etc:

What a sensible way to sell oil and vinegar - bring your own bottles!

I was pleased to see lots of blue-white china with the 'onion-pattern', like I have here at home:

'A clever woman keeps busy cooking her husband's favourite food':

A good way to keep a check on what you need to buy:

A biscuit mould in cat form, I am sure some ladies would love this!

'My' crockery again:

And a peep into an old fashioned hairdressing-salon:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
