T stands for....

Hi Everybody!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. It's still much too hot here for my liking, feels like we've dropped into the tropics!

Each Tuesday we start a new challenge at Tag Tuesday, and this time our lovely Joan is hosting, and has chosen the theme of 'A night at the movies', and she has 2 wonderful tags to inspire you on our blog. I made a rather quick and desperate tag - it's too hot for crafting! I used DP, die-cuts and some TH tickets:

On Tuesday we are also starting a new challenge at More Mixed Media. As always, our challenges are anything goes, this time with optional purple, so I hope you will be able to play along. You have a whole month to join in. Projects of all formats are allowed. I made a mixed media, hybrid piece on a canvas background, adding the cake, teapot and cup digitally. This also fits nicely to Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so here a warm welcome to all of the T Gang, too.

A few days back my friend N invited me to lunch. For starters we had delicious asparagus cream soup. My drink was water:

And she served coffee and cookies for dessert:

Last week I was out and about in neighbouring towns with my buddy G. We visited this old water tower, with a funky water museum attached:

Lots of old machinery from the tower:

Then we walked though the beautiful gardens of the little old palace next to it:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks, as always, for coming by!

Hot weather and too much sunshine.....

Hi Everybody!

We are having crazy weather here - extremely hot, interspersed with violent storms, complete with torrential rain, hailstones the size of eggs and magnificent lightning displays. A lot of places flooded and were really damaged. The weather will be staying with us over the next days....It is the hottest May since temperatures were recorded. My apartment also feels like a hot-house, most of the places here do not have air-conditioning.

For Paint Party Friday I made another piece using my African lady stamp on a sunrise background, taken from my window:

I received this gorgeous book in the post from Susan Swiderski. She asked some time back if she could use one of my sunrise photos for the cover, and here it is. I was honoured to be asked, and am proud to have my own, autographed copy, and am looking forward to reading it. Thanks a lot, Susan!

And I made a mixed media canvas postcard with a torn paper background. The Gibson girl stamp is from LaBlanche. And it's a good reminder for TIOT's 'She's got the look' challenge:

I have also been reworking this older, mixed media  piece. I'm not sure where it's going just now, but I'm trying:

On Saturday is Elizabeth's 2nd on the 2nd, so I am re-showing a paint and pastel portrait, my version of Van Gogh's Mutter:

After leaving Hariksee we visited 'Burg Brüggen', an old castle nearby:

It is now used as a hotel / restaurant:

There was an artisan market going on as we were there:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

T stands for Time at the lake

Hi  Everybody!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend. On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at Try it on Tuesday - She's got the look. As always, projects of all formats are allowed, and you have 2 weeks to link to us. I'm looking forward to seeing what you create. I made a tag using one of the African stamps I made recently. The lady was stamped onto white card using distress ink, fussy cut, and given some gold embellishments with perfect pearls. I mounted her onto some black and gold animal print card, and then sewed it all to some bronze mirri card:

It is also half time at Tag Tuesday, where our theme is locks and keys. I made a digital tag using elements from me and Serif. The background is a photo of a sheet of rusty metal:

It is also time for Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so here a warm welcome to all of the lovely ladies of the T Gang. Recently when I was out with my buddy G we stopped at a cafe in a park. G had an alcohol-free beer and and I had my usual cappuccino:

And here some more photos from our trip to Hariksee last week, where we enjoyed walking through the woods and by the water:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
