Mother' Day

Hi Everybody!

Tomorrow is Mother's Day, so I'm wishing a
great day to all you Mums out there! Hope you will be
suitably celebrated by your families.

I have a mixed media piece showing a photo of my
Mum with my sister Ruth, taken in 1939.
I still have the brooch my Mum is wearing.
For this piece I cased a similar one made a couple
of years back and given to my sister. The corrugated cardboard
has been peeled, painted and inked. Some parts were embossed
and others embellished with gold leaf- I am linking to

This was the very first card I made back in 1951 at the
tender age of 4 1/2:

I drew this face a couple of weeks back using pastel chalks
and added the flowers with a stencil:

Then I did some digital additions (Serif, Mischief Circus):

Some more photos from my walks:

and thanks a lot for coming by!

Light and dark, grunge and elegance

Hi Everybody!
It's weekend - enjoy!

For Paint Party Friday and Art Journal Journey, elegance and grunge.
I have an A3 mixed media piece, using an image cut from
a magazine. I used a quote from Harry Potter and the Order
of the Phoenix,  'We've all got both light and dark inside us. What
matters is the part we chose to act on. That's who we
really are.'

And I have some more pictures from the Japanese
Culture Centre and Eko House:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Wednesday Post

Hi Everybody!

Today I am sharing an A3 mixed media piece, once again using
my head. I am linking to Art Journal Journey, Gill's lovely challenge 'elegance and grunge'. I am also linking to Simon Monday challenge, it's
a frame up, as my head is framing the content here, and to
Paint Party Friday, hosted by Eva and Kristin

Yesterday the day started off with a lovely sunrise:

In the afternoon we visited the Eko House, the Japanese
culture centre, garden and Temple in Düsseldorf -
a very beautiful place

More photos to follow another day!
And the moon in the evening was fantastic, too:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
