Friday this and that

Hi Everybody!

For Paint Party Friday,  for Simon Monday challenge,
add numbers, and Moo Mania, faces, I have an A4 mixed media
journal page.
The Mona stencil is from Stencilry.Org

And I have another mixed media tag, with many layers and a stenciled rose.
This time I needed a flat tag to send in a 'normal'
envelope, so in spite of using corrugated card, many layers, textures
and sewing, I was able to post it cheaply.

Sunrise is always my fave time of day:

Recently I showed photos of this railed off oak tree in
the grounds of the Diakonie, with inscriptions,
and the date March 22nd 1887, and I didn't know
why this was special - now I do! It was planted to
celebrate the 90th birthday of the Prussian Emperor
William I.

Some photos from my morning walks to the clinic - enjoy:

Have a great weekend, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Playing tortoise and more....

Hi Everybody!

Time is flying, and it's mid-week already.
I made another tag which I am linking to Go Tag Thursday -
use pink and to Tag Tuesday -  heritage.
Some of you might be wondering what this tag has to
do with heritage? Bread is a recognised part of our
cultural heritage, and is a staple food of many world
cultures. The Unesco has acknowledged German bread
as part of its 'intangible' cultural heritage.
My tag has many layers once again, and I used a vintage
image of a lady in pink proudly carrying a loaf of bread.
I once again sewed the various layers together:

For Art Journal Journey, Hazel's theme of a
magical mystery tour, and Paint Party Friday, hosted by
Eva and Kristin, I have a mixed media A4 piece. The background was
gessoed,  and painted with a mix of grey and madder. The moon was painted with ivory and silver acrylics. I added the figures using a
stencil. The eye stamp and  'Traumwelt' (dream world) stamps
are from LaBlanche. The town silhouette was also
stenciled. I added more colours with pastel chalks.

Here are more photos of the tropical room at the zoo:

The Strauss looked very indignant:

More birds:

The pigeons evidently also find rich pickings at the zoo:

The HUGE tortoise is 121 years old:

The empty shell outside the tortoise house was not only popular
with kids who wanted to play....and no, that is not my backside
sticking out there!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

All the Ts for Tuesday

Hi Everybody!

On Tuesday we are beginning a new challenge at TIOT -

-TRANSPORT-

As always you have 2 weeks to link your creations
to us, and projects of all formats are welcome.
I'm looking forward to seeing YOU there.
I made a mixed media wall hanger using recycled cardboard and
some brown burlap given to me by Chrissie. The vintage
photo was printed out onto canvas, which gives a great
added texture. I added a ticket, made using 2 TH
stamps and some metal cogs. The cardboard was peeled, painted
with gesso and partly embossed with Frantage. I used 2 rows
of sewing to hold it all together:

And before I forget, you still have a week to
join us at Tag Tuesday, where the theme is 'heritage'.

Today is also Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so here a big welcome
to all the nice ladies of the T Gang. I didn't have time
to bake cake or cookies, as I am just exhausted when
I get back from the clinic each day, so I'll just share my
cappuccino with you!

I had a wonderful surprise on Saturday when a parcel from
Jackie came - thanks so much Sweetie, it made my day. Saturday
was a sad day for me as it was the anniversary
of the day my husband died and also our wedding anniversary,
and this lovely present really cheered me up.
This wonderful Frida tag will have pride of place in
my arty kitchen:

Even the wrappings are wonderful, tissue, cheesecloth and fibres:

 Lots of gorgeous crafty goodies:

This large and beautiful piece will be used on the next journal
cover I make:

Thanks so much for your kindness Jackie!

And some photos taken on my Saturday walk:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
