T stands for Tuesday, TIOT and more

Hi Everybody!

There's a lot going on again today, so I'll start off
straightaway.
On Tuesday we are starting a new challenge at TIOT -
Lady in red.
As always you have 2 weeks to join our challenge,
and projects of all formats are welcome.
For my DT piece I paper pieced the evening dress for my lady, using
scraps of handmade paper, which I sewed together. The verse written
around the decoration at the top is from Hillaire Belloc's
'Cautionary Tales'. I loved his work as a kid, and still do.
The background has been paper pieced out of squares
cut from a dictionary:

Today is Elizabeth's T stands for Tuesday, so a hearty welcome to
all of the nice ladies of the T Gang.

This is the lovely Francesca who always serves my cappuccino:

Sorry, no cake this week, I am too exhausted just now to even
think about baking!

Hats, headgear and more

Hi Everybody!

We had another clear and sunny day, a real Sunday
as the name implies. It's so nice to feel the sun on your face
or back while walking out.

For Tag Tuesday, Michele's 'hats and Headgear' challenge,
I made another tag, also meant for the Allsorts challenge blog,
ladies and girls. I made a very feminine tag, with an
animal print background behind the black, both tags sewn together
with white zig-zag stitch.I used some fussy cut images, a quote
from Dyelusions and a pair of sparkly shoes. A pink pearl-pin,
some feathers and some flowers were used as embellishments.
You still have a week to join the challenge,
and Michele is offering a prize from Lunagirl Images:

This card arrived from dear Annie in Australia,
she knows that I adore the house mouse images -
thanks Sweetie, your card is gorgeous, as all of your
work is. If you don't know Annie, hop over and take a look!

The crocuses and other spring blooms are much in evidence everywhere:

Weekend

Hi Everybody!

Today the sun is shining, and I enjoyed a nice
walk along the Rhine. It's still quite chilly, but when
the sun shines it just feels better! Thanks to those who wrote
and asked if I was okay when I didn't post - I am just
very tired when I get back from the clinic each afternoon
and can't post everyday, but no cause for alarm!

For Go tag Thursday, men or boys, I have a 10" tag. I found a piece
of DP with town motives which I sewed onto a manila tag and a
peeled cardboard backing. I dipped the edges into Frantage aged
gold EP. The 'sandwich man' stamp was from a company which
no longer exists. I used to love seeing the Sandwich men walking up
and down the main shopping streets when I was a kid, but it was
probably a tedious job for low pay. Mr UM has been cut from
an old almanac cover, and is bearing adverts out of sympathy for
the Sandwich man.

I am also linking to More mixed media, anything goes

I walked along the stream, and everything is slowly turning green:

The ducks were enjoying the sun, too:

The Rhine is full after all the rain of the past weeks:

Great name:

This wood pigeon is already busy:

Beautiful spring flowers all around the castle ruins:

Mr Music was playing happily as always:

Some different gulls were out today:

Our little town looks like spring:

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks for coming by:
