More big birds in Autumn

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, Indian summer, I have a hybrid piece, made with one of my misty photos. When I took the photo my tree outside the window was still standing, you can  see  a branch at the front. I used a digital frame and some embossed paper. The verse from John Keats is always one of my faves:

Last week I hopped on the tram and went into town while the sun was shining.
There are lots of new buildings, which do look smart, but I think 'ancient' is more my taste than modern:

This is one of the old and traditional hotels, and it is very exclusive and very expensive:

The water that flows through Königsallee flows into the lake
in Hofgarten, a large park. The geese, ducks, swans and other birds
are happy to eat all the food that people bring for them. The swans kept trying to push the others away with their long necks:

Wonder what they're watching?

This goose evidently liked my currant bun, as it waddled after me
when I tried to leave:

I had to part with the rest of my bun to make a getaway:

Does anybody know what sort this one is?

This giant, rusty nail is art:

Hope you enjoyed your trip to the town centre!

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

More autumn feelings

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, Indian summer and for Paint Party Friday
I have a mixed media piece today. The background was brayered with leftover paints. The flowers were stenciled with a gorgeous 1€ stencil from the Euro shop, and the dragonflies were also rather messily stenciled with some left over paint. The lady was painted using a home made template, then doodled with a gold pen, with which I also outlined the flowers. The leaves were cut from painted paper.

This morning I was up early and was rewarded with a wonderful sunrise, but perhaps I should take time to put something over my pyjamas when it's so cold outside!

And this was serendipity pure - a flock of wild geese flew by on their
way down to the Rhine:

The sheep are grazing on the meadows near the Rhine again. It's good to pause and just watch them:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks  a lot for coming by!

More autumn trees

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, Indian summer, I made a mixed media piece.
I started by pasting an autumn leaf napkin onto an A3 sheet of paper with mod-podge. Then I used a large CWS birch-tree stencil to tone it down with white gesso. The birds were stamped onto tissue paper and also glued on with mod-podge. The quote and the owl were added digitally. I made this on the day after 'my' tree in front of the window was cut down.
I am also linking to Paint Party Friday
hosted by Eva and Kristin.

Then I played around digitally and made a second version, with slightly altered colours, and people looking at the trees. I can't decide which version I like better.

Today was cold and damp, and I had the gardens at the old castle all to myself - except for the ducks and geese. The goslings are all fit and well and as big as their parents:

Mum still keeps an eye on them:

The autumn foliage and reflections were beautiful:

Have a great day, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
