Where do I belong?

Hi Everybody!

For Art Journal Journey, Maps, I have another journal page, which for me is very relevant just now, as the majority of the British  decided in their referendum to leave the EU.

This decision has left me feeling rather shell shocked, and it is  one which I think is very wrong. For my page I used a map of the corner of London, where I was born, and one of my photos of the castle ruins here in Kaiserswerth. When I made it, I was hoping that the 'Brexit'  vote would bring a different decision.

Now at least  I know that I don't belong in Great Britain any more.

I have a sunflower on my balcony, evidently planted by one of my winged visitors, and have been taking progress shots over the past couple of weeks:

And I love my blue balloon flowers, and watching them pop open:

This is the seed capsule from a horn violet, which is really beautifully 'designed':

We had very heavy storms again last night, with non-stop lightning and thunder

over a coupe of hours, and it's not over yet - the never ending summer storm story.

Art Journaling for Friday

Hi Everybody!

It's almost Friday, so it's time for Paint Party Friday again, hosted, as always, by Eva and Kristin.

My first piece is for Art Journal Journey, maps. I used a painted, dripped and collaged background, which was digitally enhanced and placed over a map.

This week I finished the last page in my 'new journal', which has now become my old  and very fat journal. This page was made with scraps of paper napkins and dryer sheets which were used to mop up colours,  metallic paints, doodling and writing:

And here I used a lot of scraps and leftovers, paints and gelatos:

And here my big, fat journal, for which I will now make a cover:

In between heavy rain storms we had some dry hours for taking walks, and today, Thursday, seems to be summer, but I don't think it will last long, and more storms have been forecasted:

The horses are happy in the old moat:

And clouds and sunshine chasing each other all week:

And in these days when the weather changes faster than many people can think, a quote from George Carlin:

Girls just wanna have fun

Hi Everybody!

Just a quick post today, the day has run away again.

I made a piece today just for fun - we all need some fun from time to time!

I used a blurred photo as my background and some digital elements from a new set by Nancy Baumiller-Crowabout StudioB @ Mischief Circus.com. 

Once again it rained....

and rained....

 But the waters in the stream and Rhine do make for some wonderful atmospheric photos:

This huge mushroom on one of the fallen trees looks for me like a huge toad!

And this poor lady stands chained on one of the streets here:

Mid week mix

Hi Everybody!

Hope your week is going well!

For Art Journal Journey, maps,I have a hybrid page today, made by placing three pages on top of each other - a page of collaged images of Italy, a map, and an image of Leonardo da Vinci and his Vitruvian man.

Yesterday the sun came out for half an hour in the morning, and then went back to bed....

A neighbour down the road always plants lovely flowers in a tiny plot of land next to the house:

The water is rising again, and the meadows are starting to smell of decaying plants:

This Egyptian goose evidently wanted to keep her feet dry, and perched herself on one leg on the top of a tall tree:

This tree was looking at me:

The logs/branches that have fallen into the water look a bit like crocodiles! 

And my quote of the day:

'There comes a time when you have to stop crossing oceans for people who wouldn't jump a puddle for you!'
