Water and Birds

Hi Everybody!

Hope your weekend was good!

Today I have a journal page for Moo Mania and More, water, and for
Art Journal Journey, journeys. The Rhine is a water way where journeys have been taking place for thousands of years. I  watch ships every day, cargo ships, work ships, and passenger ships.

I put the page together digitally, using a water-colour painting I made from a photo taken at the Rhine in winter:

This is the painting:

And this is the photo:

I went for a bike ride this morning, and then spent the rest of the day at home, so I had plenty of time to watch the birdies:

The Bullfinch was out again:

The woodpecker aNd his wife have also joined the hungry throng:

And the rain really made Mr Jay look bedraggled:

Have a great day, take care
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Weekend report

Hi Everybody!
Hope you are enjoying your well earned weekend.

Today I have a double spread made in my large journal for 'journeys', Erika's lovely theme at Art Journal Journey. I made a mixed media piece with painting, stenciling, stamping and collage to use up lots of scraps. Some of the scraps are from a Viennese calendar from the beginning of the 20th century. Mr U.M. likes visiting various countries!

Friday's sunrise:

The tits (chickadees) and most other birds are kept very busy feeding their young. Isn't that baby sweet?

And this pair of bullfinches visited me yesterday and spent a good half an hour on my balcony eating the sunflower seeds. They are messy eaters, always had their beaks full of bits! The red one is the male, the females and youngsters are a sort of pinkish-grey.

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!

Word and Number Play

Hi Everybody!
It's weekend - have a good one!

Today I am sharing the pages I made for Dianne, one of the participants in the International Swap, organised by dear Elizabeth. Each of us chose a theme, and Dianne's theme is 'word and number play'. The pages arrived at their destination on Thursday (less than a week from Germany to the USA!), Dianne is happy, and   now I can show them. I added pockets with tags to some of the pages, and was happy to have a supply of Graphics 45 paper! I am showing the fronts and backs of the various tip ins.

I made the snakes and ladders board myself, with a special built in 'trick' so that it opens flat. Here it is closed....

And here open. The squares were painted with water colours, and then I had fun drawing the snakes and ladders!

And here is the reverse:

For this page I used some vintage ledger paper as background behind the
tag pocket:

And I made a mini snakes and ladders game as tag:

A tag with a little word-play in a pocket:

And another tag:

And a few views from today's walk:

The Rhine is still very full:

When the weather is good, the benches are always taken....

Have a great day you all, take care,
and thanks a lot for coming by!
